Just FYI, Grimaldus didn't get shafted by his commander for leaving him to get killed on the planet. The space battle is vastly more dangerous, and they already knew it would be lost. What he is mad about is being deny the chance to die with his brothers and being relegated to the rearguard. The High Marshall want him to live and trust he can lead in case the worst happened.

Just a reminder: The Astartes have an entire 'contingent' garrisoned in the city, but in this animation only a squad is shown due to limitations on time and resources (one man made this entire series). So keep in mind that Grimaldus commands about 100 other Black templars, and that later on when another templar suddenly appears, he was always in Helsreach, but was simply not shown previously

The Yarrick character has a lot of legend around him. The ork WAAAGH power keeping him alive is fan head canon as far as I can tell. Honestly there is a lot of wonky theories around what ork power can do and that's not really the fandoms fault as it seems to change on a writer to writer bases. It doesn't mean it's not true but I never seen any official GW stuff confirming that and it doesn't make sense. Really he was 153 right after the second war and the orks didn't know of him until that war so they can't be the cause. Most likely he's on rejuvinate. He's a high ranking army official and the army surpisiungly treats it's soldiers good in 40k minus the "shooting you in the head for not charging 50 necrons with a butter knife" thing. There was another commissar in the same boat Chiphas Cain who is currently on active duty at the age of 200+ years old This series had to cut out a lot of content other wise it would have been 12 hours long but there is a lot of scenes and characters that had more presence. Like the conference room had a lot of bickering back and forth between other space marine chapters. Lot of large egos in the same room and all. But the tactical situation on the ground was bad. Although in this one thing that bugged the crap out of me in the original book is everyone and their mother seems to know about the first war for Armageddon and constantly refer to it as the 3rd. Also the problem with the sergeant wasn't that he was a screw up, he just wasn't high command material. He's a good squad leader he just doesn't have what it takes to lead 100 guys around.

First Captain Sigismund of the Imperial Fist's was against the splitting of the Astartes Legions, after the Horus Heresy. A Legion consist's 10 Thousand Astartes. A Chapter consist's only 1000 Astartes. That prevent a galactic Disaster like the Horus Heresy to happend again. It is an enormous difference if 10 Thousand Astartes betray and slaughter ther former Allies, or only 1000 of them do. After some Happenings Rogal Dorn, Primarch of the Imperial Fist's, agreed to the new "Codex Astartes" and give Order to splitt the Legion into Chapters, This is called "the second Foundation" so the Imperial Fist got split in five Chapters plus the Imperial Fist's there self The Black Templars, The Crimson Fist, the Soul Drinkers, the Excoriators and the Fist Exemplars. Captain Sigismund took the impulsiv and agressiv Brothers with him and Found the Black Templars, they a strong religious Chapter. Important to know is, that the Black Templars, don't follow the Codex Astartes. But they are absolute loyal to the Imperium. They are a Crusade- Chapter, so they don't have a Homeplanet. They form Crusade- Fleet's and travel wherever they want a smashing Heretic's and Xenos wherever they find them. Every Crusade- Fleet operate on there own, and a handfull People in the Imperium rumor's that the Templars are a lot more than 1000 Space Marines. We don't know the Truth, but more Black Templars, means more dead Heretic's and Xenos. "FOR DORN AND THE EMPEROR"

The guy with the mechanical bit attached to his face is a mindless servitor. With no thoughts other than the task given to him. I don't think he even processed being pushed back other than just losing balance for a moment due to a random object suddenly appearing in front of him.

Armageddon was place long before it became synonymous with the final battle at the end of days. It is a place in Israel that had several forts built to guard trade routes and saw many armies move through over the course of millennium

Imagine if you had to take this big walk up with the squad and No one explained anything to you. How long until you just freaked out?
