Couldn’t have watch a better non review than this. I decided when word of this kit came out that I wasn’t going to buy it because nothing about turned me on. @@sandman_locksport Trust me, me and the post office are bitter enemies when it comes to delivering mail. I ordered my picks from Multipick in Germany and got them here in 4 days. I send a letter to San Jose, about 3 hours from me and it takes a week and a half. I'm sure it'll get here. Enjoy the rest of your evening!

LPL actually shows how he packs his with all the picks in the new pouch. It is what helped me decide to order the new set + a couple extras.. I already own the genesis set.

On the losing the turning tool part, I lost my 0.025 turing tool from CI and emailed them about replacing it, all they said was that I would basically have to buy the entire set again to get a single tool back.

This looks like a great set. I really like the innovative case design. I have lost so many tension wrenches that haven fallen out of all the commercial cases. I now use zippered cases for my tension wrenches. Thanks for doing thie unboxing, cheers

I am watching this for the second time, after receiving my second CI order. I see now your answer to my question below was in the video the entire time. You had an extra tool in the black case along with the door latch card which made it look different on first watch. I am critical of CI having everything with Made in China stickers (my issue is more that they fail to mention this fact on their website and all videos, settling for just saying, "high quality"). However CI it has become my new Sparrows (much also made in China), meaning the temptation of wanting to buy everything CI puts out. I am a sucker for innovative gear or gear that is not covered (at least by shape or design) by other companies. I guess that last part is why I have not ordered their standard picks yet (see Sparrows comment) but went for their bypass tools, tags, and other items. If I place a third order, I think I'm going to have to buy the Echelon with their Genesis set should they offer it without the case. Your eco-system is why I first went with Sparrows. I am part of the Canadian eco-system. :)

At the end of the day, I don’t care what country it comes from, but I’ll say this, I absolutely hate sparrows products. It’s all garbage. I own every sparrows product and I own every CI product. And I have zero complaints about CI. I don’t have a loyalty to country, I have a loyalty to quality control. My complaint about sparrows and all of my videos concerning their product is not that they have products coming from China, is that they put quantity and price in front of quality. Also, there are a lot of products that are being made in America from CI. I don’t know the difference between the ones being made from China and the ones being made here in America. It’s the same with sparrows. Except sparrows does not not have a relationship with the community. Right now, CI has given thousands of dollars to community members for shopping sprees. I’ve never seen sparrows do anything for the community, they didn’t even have a black Friday sale.

All the CI stuff is top notch, I really like their turning/tension/torque tools. I've got the Genesis set, some combs, and the double ended ergo turners. My only complaint, which is a minor nitpick, is with the pick handles, they're plenty thick but I would have liked them to be wider, along the lines of Peterson or Lockmaster; I got fairly wide mitts and need some meat to grab onto or I start to cramp up after a while. How do they compare with Multipick pick handles?

they appear to be larger than multipick, and multipick is larger than sparrows. these are still a popsicle stick style handle, so they will still feel smaller for huge hands like ours. i like the durability in these, i would have carried these in the military for sure. i am considering experimenting with a plastidip though for wet environments and for longer picking sessions. rumor is Covert is experimenting with injection molded handles. dont know when that will happen though. keep an eye out for those. im just happy about this set because i love my arbitor set and my genesis set, so its a cool expansion to both.

I like that tag challenge lock idea. Not sure you can put the RFID card in the case w/o the card protector I'd worry that the magnet woven into the case may erase or mess with the card if you program it. Anyone else know any better?

I got fng, then the genesis.. I love it, I was thinking of a tuxedo kit to round out for 2 kits. Maybe this? I want a triple rake, worm and top keyway turners, 2 kits: one for locksport at my desk, and a light one for edc

You will absolutely hate that tuxedo set! There’s not a single person that I have talked to that is happy they bought it. Just my two Cents. Sparrows has some decent picks and profiles, but that set is their worst one. If you feel the need, check out there creeper set over the tuxedo set. Or build your own creeper set. You’re most likely experienced enough to start building your own pick sets! Give that a try. But I love knowing I can fit all three of these sets in the same case, the arbiter, the genesis, and the echelon all fit inside the echelon case.

Id be interested to see, since you now have all three CI sets(arbiter, echelon, and genesis) how and if yoy would combine the best bits into the new case. Only thing missing may be the comb picks but i dont know if you have those?

Yeah sandman I agree as well CI is top quality stuff the one thing you said that I disagree with is you said Peterson was the only one of the quality as Ci but I have been using Peterson for years they are good but when it comes to quality of all my tools Law Lock tools is the one I’d say is hard to beat I would say CI and Law are the two best

I don’t disagree, I think law lock tools are much better than Peterson. I think I was trying to compare a Peterson set to a covert entry set with the same tools. The difference is like $300. Covert Instruments tools are much better than Peterson because they use a better tool steel, but they use the same tool steel as law lock tools. 301 High Yield for the win! 🏆

Another great job. I have a lot of Covert’s stuff too. 2 things -I wish they sold this case separately. -You mentioned a few times replacing a tool if lost or broken. Unless it’s specifically listed as an individual item, you cannot get an individual replacement, but would have to buy another complete set. None of the picks in this set are available for individual sale. Still good stuff though. Thanks!

@@sandman_locksport With shipping costing more then the individual tool, I understand why they may not sell them that way. I would like to see all the tools listed individually , but you must purchase a minimum of 5 tools. This would allow those who break a tool to replace them, plus add a couple to your collection you do not already own. This would give everyone the option to build your own set, exactly how you want it.

That was the double ended turning tool from their genesis set. It’s great. I use it a lot because it fits my cases better than my previous ergo tools.

@@jonholistik it was a TOK bent tool from the 16 piece set I reviewed. They don’t even have it advertised as a single tool, you have to know the nomenclature to order it. It’s from the turning tool set 3. I’ll put in an order on the 24th when everything is on sale. Just sucks a three dollar turning tool is gonna cost me over $100 because that’s how much product I need to buy to justify $20 shipping. From now on, I will keep all my foreign tools at home.

I love the ergo turning tools but I love the basic double ended turning tools the most, the ones in the Genesis set and FNG, I use those 75% of the time because they are ridged.

@sandman_locksport I bought the genesis and echelon set from CI, but being Italian, mean I paid A LOT the delivery. Unfortunately, there wasn't any other site as "easy to use" as CI. Multipick is a good alternative from Europe, for sure, but there wasn't a true "guide" about it. Most lockpickers are based on the US. Could I ask you in private some guide/sites easy to use? For now, I think I'm golden with the set, and before buying a new one, I need to... well, start picking with the Covert's set. But I would love in a few years to go red/black belt! Even Cisa is not to be found in the subreddit whatsoever, even if they make good lock (I think...?)

It is public! So you can! Lol. The bridge is being closed so they are cutting off all of the locks. It will be completely cleared by Christmas. So we “salvage” the locks we can pick and donate them to Locksport groups to use as instructional tools. Your welcome!
