Great start for sure. I actually own one of the green grapples you show in your two examples of the top jaw and I would mot recommend that style jaw over a version of the clam shell design. It doesn't grip materials as well as the clamshell type. Keep going, looks great!!

You want the 1/4 plate pretty hot! 25 volts around 425 IPM 045 wire 35 years at case/ new holland

Thanks Jeff! I was hoping someone would chime in on my welding. I had the old Systematics 175a cranked as hot as she could go on all of the plates. .035 wire. I struggle sometimes with welding, sometimes looks like a pro, sometimes like a 5 year old!🤣.
