@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 Easily!!! I’ve been racing DLM’s for close to 15yrs, and our engines from Andy Durham & Vic Hill are right at 50K. Of course by the time you add an oil system, carb, headers etc the price goes up. Yet, These engines exceed those in price by a pretty dang decent margin... 💰💰💰💰😂
They have a zero tolerance policy on engine failure. Any moisture entering the block is prohibited. The mechanics probably don’t typically talk during an engine build. Any mouth spittle could cause catastrophic engine damage and consequently engine failure.
@@JacobNNorton1982Um no it was during covid time for goodness sakes. And no the condensation from your breath doesn't cause catastrophic engine failure.
Awesome Build, all top shelf parts and the dyno numbers prove it! Reminds me of helping work on the tropartic teams engines way more money than I had to put into an engine but super cool parts. Wesmar had a shop in Bartlesville used to drool over the valve train and heads he had in there, also good times for sure! Thanks for your video and awesome parts!
Been to a fair few Sprint Car meetings. But never seen the engine in pieces before. Definitely made great Horsepower. Thanks for bringing us along. Peter
Do you recommend the ISKY solids rollers lifters for the street? I have been running crower HIPPO lifters (HI PERFORMANCE PIN OILED), never had a problem with them, had just been told they are great long running solid rollers which will survive street use.
Nobody building those 401 anymore. I’m 26 but the only thing me and my dad have in common is our love for those engines. He had a 73 amx with the 401 and a 4 speed when he was a kid. My dream is to build one with him but he’s getting old
I LOVE MY HOT ROD FAMILY!!!! INNOVATION SPOKEN HERE!!!!1 Dontov would be proud!!!!!! I am so impressed with technology !!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!! SO POWERFUL!!!!
Beautifull engine. sprintcars are the real deal,, forget drag racing ,,, them engines last 5 seconds.. thats not racing... these 410,s run all season on 1 build. steve in Australia
Zach: Great job on this great looking engine! One Question: You ordered a 109 degree overlap that you reset to 105 degrees. Is there a reason why you didn't order it that way, or were you advancing it to help on top end? Just learning.....Super numbers on the dyno--more than double of the displacement. WOW!
It’s a 109 lobe separation and he installed at 105 intake lobe centerline. Lobe separation refers to the degrees between maximum lift points on the intake and exhaust ports. This is a fixed number on single cam engines and cannot change. The 105 intake centerline is angle of crankshaft rotation from TDC to the maximum intake opening point or intake lobe centerline. Also, camshaft manufacturers have transitioned to referring to the distance between lobes as a Lobe Seperation Angle or LSA and advertise overlap separately as two camshafts can have the same LSA with different lobe durations resulted in different amounts of actual valve event overlap.
Think of it like a persons last name. A whole lot of people made some changes over the years but the lineage still traces back the same. Mainly it’s an architecture thing, camshaft spacing, main journal locations, head bolt locations, etc.
@@jbbass58 Speedway Motors now has this item in their catalog for $49,950 Salina Engines advertises a new aluminum 410 for $42,000 or $43,000. Aluminum rockers and Pro Heads CNCed else-where than *_one-way technologies_* only differences.
Wow, what a technological gem...very cool and thanks so much for posting. Had I not went Aerospace Engineering, I would have loved to be an IC race engine builder/designer. As to the 950 HP, that is damn impressive for a 400 CI N/A endurance engine, especially with a mech fueling system. My engine of choice has a bit more HP...I believe the generally accepted LBF conversion is approximately 150,000 HP per F119-PW-100 turbo fan w/afterburner, and the F22 has two of them :) Have a nice day.
Gas port pistons are very hard on top rings and pistons and bores I though that was drag race stuff. Herein Oz at least the 410 limit was supposed to cost less than 372s at 8500. 410s have quite a short life between rebuilds. 3 or 4 shows Not so long ago 360s were running a season on an engine now they are not much better either
Great engine build,...with the specs ! As a 10 year old my uncle and his friend took my brother and I to a race at Midwest Speedway (Yes,...I'm OLD) lol ...when I heard a beautiful noise that rocked my heart and I said, "Uncle Don, what's that" ? !!! I was a lover in a instant ! I helped a great friend race sprint cars for years in the 360 class. I have a question. At idle, sprint cars rock & roll like rock band Van Halen, but when their just cruising on the track, they idle pretty mellow. At my friends shop we always start her up on Wednesday night after maintenance. My friend leaned out the fuel and she almost purred like a kitty cat. What's the differences ???
Build Cost! Ha , when building an Engine like this , Figure IT Out after a Season with a Good Driver and a Rev. Limiter . I'll take TORQUE All day coming Off that 4th Turn! Jimmy , Nice Work.🇺🇸
We built this engine here! Reach out to us at 800-979-0122 if you'd like to get started! We also have several engines listed here: www.speedwaymotors.com/engines?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqP2pBhDMARIsAJQ0CzpsoJwZMXTz4SVYKgr312EHupmObwrC7u13bE2S2yuN1X1wTX6IKn4aAj8vEALw_wcB
When you buy an engine like this you are paying into your engine "program" it's a relationship between the owner and the builder. You are paying for more than just an engine. That being said 50k+ you only pay that upfront and after that you pay for refreshes and even if you wear one out completely. It's out of rebuilds, you have the injection, the dry sump, maybe a crankshaft if it checks out ok. Your next engine you won't need to pay that big bill again. These motors run hard for 25 laps a night. If you get a chance to watch the world of outlaws when they come through your town. Go watch them because it is worth it.
What is the differences in these 410 engines between the different makes( Ford,Chevy,or Mopar) .Are the blocks and heads different? Or Just the heads are different?
The 410 engine brands are all very different. The bore and stroke combination, and the fact that they are aluminum block and heads is really about all that is the same. That's why you see teams like Donny Schatz Racing having to do so much R&D to get the Ford program working for them.
The Mona Lisa of SBC. Absolute Masterpiece. I wish we could've gotten CR and cam specs and flow numbers. I would imagine the heads are well over 400 CFM'ers.
CNC ported ls3 heads flow 360cfm so I bet you're correct. The cam specs were .760 lift on both intake & exhaust. I think these engines are 15:1 compression
What if you lowered the compression & put twin turbos on it, would it still be snappy & high revving? Just like that one is set up what would be the miles per gallon if put in a weekend warrior sleeper car.
Where's your faith? Thee really consider a slice of cloth will protect thee from any pestilence ?.. and no this is not a french Chevrolet government motors.. its a list of aftermarket companies.
The big block mods have a big block Chevy based engine with a CID of 500 to 540 depending on the rules you are racing. The motors in the big block mods make more power and torque but are also heavier. Also most of the mod rules require a cast iron block the 410 sprint car engine is an all aluminum engine.
