The culmination of the 'Upper Room Discourse' comes in the form of a prayer offered by Jesus for all who were, or would become, his followers.

Thanks as always for your sharing of the Bible, brother Bruce. I had always struggled with John 17:8-9 & 12 with how they have been explained. When l read the texts they seem to tell me that they are 2 groups of people on earth. One group came from the Father and another group is what Peter called, "earth dwellers". 8 For I have given them (the disciples who were with Jesus then) the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. 9 I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. 12 While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. Is Jesus telling us the universal view that only those whom the Father gave to Jesus can understand and believe in the truth that Jesus is the Son of God. They and including the future believers like in our time, are from God for they and future believers can come to believe the truth that Jesus is from the Father. Those whom the Father did not give to Jesus were and are never from the Father, hence it's impossible for them, as they were and are from this world and not from the Father, to know the truth, even the message is forced down onto them. Jesus went on to verse 12 to deny prayer for them for the Father didn't give them to Him. Jesus was so proud to declare to the Father that He didn't loss any that the Father gave Him. I am not asking for clarification who is or isn't from the Father. But l am seeking to understand whether it's safe to understand that there are indeed 2 groups or 2 types of people declared by Jesus in the texts; transient people from the Father living on earth for a time and others are permanent earth dwellers who are not from the Father.

Well, Paul assures us that we were all 'children of wrath' along with everyone else. In that sense, there is only one kind of person in the world, and we all deserve God's wrath. Paul also teaches that there some some that God 'foreknew' and for those he established a destiny that they certainly did not deserve. It was a matter of sheer mercy. We are commanded to preach the gospel to 'every creature' because we cannot tell who God will call and who God will not call in the moment of evangelism. That is God's business. We are assured that if we 'confess with our mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved.' Our inner conviction that we can call God 'Abba Father' is the assurance in the heart of every believer that the name of that believer was written in the Lamb's Book of Life from the creation of the world.

I’ve been watching and following Bruce for the better part of 7 or 8 years. Super solid and orthodox in nearly every area of theology. With that said, it grieves me that he holds to man made holy days that have not been authorized by the Bible, 2nd commandment violations, not Sabbath keeping of the Lord’s Day, not exclusively singing the Psalms, using instruments in worship. Aligning himself with the broader PCUSA denomination that have apostized by allowing LBGTQ etc (his congrainton and a few others obtstaine from such wicked things) but overall congregational membership is allowed and approved and lastly electing women pastors. Eat the meat, spit out the bone.

if the man and woman become one flesh; it's not so difficult to perceive God as three-in-one.

**Prayer for the Healing of Hidden Oppression** (Breath in, pause, breath out) "Maranatha, Lord Yeshua, we come before You, with hearts heavy with concern, For those who suffer in secret, under the weight of hidden oppression's stern. In the shadows, the enemy lurks, seeking to harm and to divide, But we stand against his schemes, and call upon Your power to abide. (Breath in, pause, breath out) "Lord, You know the hidden corners of our hearts, where fear and doubt reside, Where the enemy whispers lies, and seeks to take our souls as his pride. But we renounce his hold on us, and claim Your victory instead, For You have overcome the darkness, and have given us Your Spirit to lead. (Breath in, pause, breath out) "We pray for those who are bound, by chains of shame and fear, For those who are lost in the darkness, with no hope, and no clear. We pray for the broken-hearted, the wounded, and the worn, For those who are trapped in the shadows, where the enemy has made his lair. (Breath in, pause, breath out) "Lord, we ask that You would shine Your light, into the darkest of places, That You would bring healing and freedom, to those who are trapped in hidden spaces. We pray that Your Spirit would move, with power and with might, To break the chains of oppression, and bring Your people into the light. (Breath in, pause, breath out) "We stand in the authority, of Your name, Lord Yeshua, our King, And we command the enemy, to release his hold, and to take wing. We pray that Your kingdom would come, and Your will would be done, That Your people would be set free, and Your glory would be won. (Breath in, pause, breath out) "Maranatha, Lord Yeshua, we wait for Your response, For the manifestation of Your power, and the deliverance of Your saints. We trust in Your goodness, and Your love, that never fails, And we give You all the glory, for the victory that You bring to our lives. (Breath in, pause, breath out) "Amen, Maranatha, come, Lord Yeshua, and heal our spirits deep, From the hidden oppression, that has sought to make us sleep. Awaken us to Your presence, and empower us to stand, Against the enemy's schemes, and to take our rightful place in Your kingdom's plan."

In this video or the last one you mention the God of the Old Testament and he is the same as the God of the New Testament. I am currently reading through Jeremiah. God is warning his people of imminent destruction. My question is who do you think is doing the talking to Jerimiah? God the father, or God the son?

The words of the Father and the words of the Son are identical (John 14:9-11).
