Forget the free weights they can get you injured, it doesn't matter if it takes you all day but you should do at least 500 push-ups and 500 situps a day plus you should be running no less than a 10 K every other day by the time you get to Boot Camp. The guy that can benchpress 300 pounds doesn't matter to the Marines, it's the guy that has the lungs that can stay in the fight the longest. Plus do a lot of practicing of holding a broomstick or a dowel with a string attached to it and a 5 pound weight out in front of you and twisting it up and down to help your forearm strength because you're gonna be holding your rifle out in front of you until you cry and if you haven't done any preparation You will be crying far sooner than the one that has

More likely the not you're gonna be going to Southern California and for that you should be thankful because the weather there is way different than other areas that have boot camps going on at that time. The other person is right, you should be doing no less than 500 situps and 500 push-ups along with 500 pull-ups a day And that goes without saying you should also be running at least 5 miles a day and get ready to stand in one place for over an hour without moving a muscle, you have all the time in the world to prepare so don't procrastinate it'll bite you in the end if you do. The trick with the And the string with the weight attached to the end of it and holding it straight out is great for the times where they have you hold your M-16 out in front of you for a half hour straight, but then again if they're wanting you to hold it out for five minutes straight it's somebody messes up that can turn five minutes into a half hour or so they have a method and usually a guide, but sometimes that book gets thrown right out when somebody messes up and I can assure you you don't want to be the reason why your brothers and arms are in trouble because you will pay the price for that when the lights go out

What can make you a better marine is to never ever complain and always look your DI right in the eye and say yes sir or whatever they tell you to call them, but the biggest thing is due exactly what they tell you don't think for yourself and do something a little different because you will get chewed up and down for that and the rest of your buddies could pay the price Like I said earlier which will intern make you pay the price later on. There's no I in team and they are going to teach you that big time PS, I have a good faith question for you, what made you want to go into the Marines if you're looking for an intelligence position, the army along with the Air Force and navy is far more suited for that type of work than the Marine Corps. I'm not saying that you cant Get into an intelligence position in some form or fashion, but they don't call at army intelligence for nothing

@@metallica2500 the marines stands out to me among other branches just because it’s regarded as harder in training. I also don’t think that far ahead and I don’t really know the difference, I just started with the marines so I stuck to them

@@ABrokenClock23 don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the marines and you can always transfer to the Navy if you wanna become a seal. Now just so you know before you can even make it to buds training you have to be the top 1% of the one percent to even get the invitation to go to buds, remember what I'm about to tell you and keep it tucked into where you never forget don't ever complain and even if you think what they're telling you to do is ridiculous you do it without question. Don't forget 500 situps, 500 push-ups and as many pull-ups as you can build yourself up to you will serve you well, lifting weights leads to injuries and I can assure you you will pack on the weight and the muscle and you won't even have to touch a free weight if you don't want to, considering you're so prone to injury at such a young age I would definitely stay away from the free weights and remember if they want you to run 3 miles you need to train five or 6 miles that way when you do the 3 miles you have the conditioning to do it and do it fast, the leader is one that will be given more liberties than the guy that's picking up the rear end of the group because those people will be singled out and that's by design because the marines will teach you that it doesn't matter if your first or last everybody needs to be together as a team unit and not individualn

You can get your hair shaved and they will still shave your head again for you, the real reason you should get your haircut is to get your scalp ready for the sun hitting it you're gonna be bald for at least three weeks
