Magtech says their SJSP 44 mag has 1675 from the muzzle out of an 8+ inch barrel. My 5.5 super Blackhawk doesn’t feel like 1600 or 1500 as it should be. Now I know why.
hey. sup. i found some 44 mag to load that i liked. they might have been Silvertip HP ammo but its been a while. they were also 205 gr. i loaded them into nickel cases and they were my 44Mag silver bullets. they were hot and the ones i found probably doubled in width. maybe they make them in 240 gr.
I’d love to see my 110gr .308 v max and varmageddons in gel. From 24” fn spr there at 3500fps and my dd5v3 16” 3300fps and on jugs they dump some serious energy…don’t think penetration is farther than a milk jug is wide after playin back footage..also have 95gr .264” v max in prc case over 3600fps and probably more violent.
Hi from Pennsylvania. I have used this exact ammo in my ruger super Blackhawk hunter. 7" barrel. It was accurate and shot consistent groups. I have reloaded the brass 2 times so far without any problems. And my handloads are 240 hardcast gas checked. At max imr 4227. Which is what I hunt with with very good results. I have taken deer with very short blood trails. And have never failed to get complete pass throughs
