On Saturday the 24th of February 2024, we decided to have a morning trip over to one of our local level crossings, Grassthorpe Lane on the East Coast Mainline. The main reason for this trip was to see 'The White Rose', a railtour from London Kings Cross to York headed by Stanier Class 5 "Black Five" 44871. The locomotive would be hauling the railtour North with WCRC 47802 trailing on the rear. Due to the slow operating speed of this service combined with the 125mph operating speed of the ECML, the train was held for a period of time in Carlton-on-Trent Loop, just south of our trainspotting location. Being as we weren't too far from the loop, when the train left to continue on towards York, it was really working hard and so gave us all a great show at Grassthorpe Lane.
Apologies for the lack of uploads recently, I should be back on track now as I have plenty of content ready to go!
Hope you enjoy the video guys, see you soon!
