If you don’t vet the cards before you send them in don’t be surprised when they come back 6’s and 7’s. I could see in 3 seconds where some major flaws were on the early cards. Why would you not look over cards you’re paying to have graded?
Who has time for that. I pack pull, penny sleeve and card saver them..off they go...and if you can see the flaws in 3 seconds on video..you must get all 10s im assuming..good for you.
I am just getting back into sports cards and know nothing about grading. What I do know is coins, and with coins, you would expect that anything straight from the mint would grade at least the equivalent of a 9, but mostly 9.5s and 10s. Why would a card straight from the pack end up getting an 8, 7, or even a 6? That seems like a major problem from the manufacturer. I would think there would be a minimum quality expectation much higher than that.
Quality control is a big issue. Corner dings from packaging can happen. Rough edge cuts and print lines. Chromium cards have lots of surface issue potential. Scratching for example. It’s definitely not a guarantee a card is mint out of the pack.
Also, if a card doesn’t come back a 9 or better the value of that card doesn’t increase typically. An 8 will go for about what a nice ungraded copy will go for
very nice - I recently acquired a 1980 Wayne Gretzky OPC 2nd year - PSA 9 - but the back says printed by Topps. This is the first I ever seen like this. What are your thoughts on this?
I generally send in with the hopes of a high grade, however, I do resell too. However if you are a collector, it basically authenticates the card and the shape its in. As a collector, its never about the asdigned grade.
whatever you do dont be this guy and just send them in look at them and if there are any defects it wont be a 10 but if there is one defect or 2 minor defects you will most likely get a 9
Some of those cards had clearly visible damage, not sure why you even sent them in. "sucks ass but what are you gonna do?" Well, how about you look over your cards better before sending them in. I can clearly see white corners on a lot of those 8's
Hey man, just wanted to say i enjoyed the video! I just hit a Fantilli yg sillver outburst, and a red dazzler bedard, ive never sent anything to psa but im highly tempted too
I can see a lot of chipping on the edges and bad corners. A 10 is legitimately a perfect card. Don’t waste your time grading everything. You have to check through them with at least a magnify glass. Just because it’s out of a pack and wasn’t handled by you doesn’t make it a 10. I have a card that looks perfect and it has a woman’s nail imprint in the middle of it right out of a pack.
Better search for a specific video playlist. Otherwise, you would be scrolling down all the videos and looking for the closest video on your topic for 15 minutes.@@Canadian_Cards
When you found out that I also make collectible videos, you wrote that you would take a look. But due to the fact that I do many topics, the collection videos are scattered among the others. Better to look at the thematic playlist. And all the videos are together.@@Canadian_Cards
@@Canadian_Cards nah, I'm good, but if you need help reviewing cards, reach out! If your goal is to sell, you're probably taking a loss right now with the grading cost.
