Thanks. Friend of mine picked it up new and when he was thinning out his collection I got it from him. Not a lot of rounds through it, but it seems quite accurate. Pretty heavy though for a concealed carry size at 31 ounces in the stainless steel trim.
@NorthwoodsTesting - thank you for a well done video, I do prefer your style, not a lot of chit chat and I do like the black background! Makes for an easy glance. I'd say that amko is pretty smurf-blue HARDBALL 😖 It gets a 2/10 Fail score from me. I had a Para 14 double stacked 45 but just didn't warm up to the 45 format, sold it, prefer my CZ 9mm, and I'd like to see how 147 / 138 Syntech 9mm would do in your gel test. Thanks again for a pleasant test video and 👍🤓
Yes they are sharp looking pistols hard to find though. I found one that's similar that I really like since I couldn't find a new warthog the Rock Island (baby rock) 3.10. it's smallest 45 I've ever seen and holds 10+1,ported barell for recoil one of my favorite pistols I'm still on the look for a warthog though.
At $7 "Clearance" and yet their website shows still available (for $30!) - I wonder if they have since reformulated to function more closely to their design parameters..? One thing, it's getting tiring watching everyone (it now seems) using clear gel instead of true FBi knox gel and then getting HP failure after failure, when in proper knox gel they operate correctly. I and several range/hunting pals are beginning to ignore videos continuing to use clear condom rubber failure-prone gel. It really translates to a waste of resources, time, ammo, money - to continue wasting said resources showing gel-caused failures. Otherwise, I like your comprehensive testing methods (when knox gel is used) and brevity. Short is sweet and you tend to get to the point and jibber-jabber a lot less than most. 👍😏
I'm still on the fence with clear ballistics. Obviously seeing tracks is interesting, but if they aren't approximating real world results then what's the point?
I purchased several boxes of 9mm and 40s&w at Walmart too for $8 +/-. Now, Federal has all calibers overpriced. They were like $12 or so a box retail. That's one hell 9f a crazy mark-up.
You store your ammunition improperly and that's why some yahoo's favorite ammo didn't do so well? Really?! Maybe that person aught to get out and do more shooting themselves, and get away from the keyboard. Thanks for the testing. I'll avoid this Syntech in .45ACP, and maybe that is why Federal isn't selling it any longer.
That's why you can't find it in 45 anymore probably they probably discontinued it. I don't think it's fast enough in 45acp I have it in 9mm and have test it and it makes some nasty holes.
