I have had a nagging lower back problem for almost 1 year. Physio and Chiropractor dealt with worst of it several months ago, but despite daily stretches it always lingered. I noted after the first 30 minute session a few weeks ago an almost Immediate improvement and have been doing two or three sessions since, some only 15 minutes, some 30. Back pain now gone most days. I think a lot of it had to do with opening my hips more, but regardless it is great to be pain free once again. Plus, the sessions for me are almost a reminder of how to play once again....somewhat like a child does. Not a bad thing at all.

To me this practice is about strengthening communication with the body. Modern habits and conditioning make it hard to hear the signals the body sends about what it needs to heal. This practice is just about slowing down and listening. Allowing the body to lead us for a change and our mindset supports with curiosity and respect - this is much different than our constant striving for more performance, constant pushing. It's great to hear you're experiencing some relief via "movement nutrition". It's just a piece of the puzzle, of course, but I hope you keep exploring it. Thank you for watching and best wishes.

I see movement practice has giving permission for us to move. Once got the permission, the bones and joints move letting go of the pain. This channel makes this movement so simple for me to understand.

I’m so glad your video showed up in my suggested videos!!! I just completed the entire class and that was so much fun!!! I must say that when you said “and that now completes our warmup” I had forgotten that was just the warmup 😅 but I made it through, changing it up as I needed. I look forward to learning more and getting my body better prepared as I age, it’s never too late 😊

Much appreciated, Len. Really stoked that you can pick up on the vibes here - they do go a bit against the grain of modern fitness. I'm a big believer that movement is a personal experience that's at it's best when it's collaborative, inclusive, and creative. Hope we can keep practicing together 🤝🏼

I came across your videos a little over a month ago and I just had to tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge! Your practice videos are EXACTLY what I've been looking for; you do a GREAT job providing a progressive workout that not only mobilizes and enriches the body, but also gets the heart rate up and works up a sweat! I also really appreciate that you don't stop the flow to explain every movement which defeats the purpose of a "flow", like most natural movement videos I've come across. I have upper back and SI joint issues and these practices have already proven to be effective in not just relieving pain and tightness, but in actually resolving my imbalances. I can already feel a difference in how I move throughout the day, and my squats and hip hinging has definitely improved! I look forward to more practice videos; please keep them coming! Thank you!!

The standing spinal articulation reminds me of that old school toy that is a person or animal made from long wooden beads and elastic. When you press the bottom of the base, the person just kind of collapses, as the elastic lengthens. I don’t know what the toy is called, but the movement feels great!

Absolutely. They way I see it we can all benefit from reserving some space in our fitness for basic ground movement, stability, and coordination. These "softer" movements bridge the gap between our everyday lives and the sports or activities we do for recreation. Seeing the big picture and moving well for a lifetime is the goal. Yeah, if it feels relevant to you, definitely. My biggest draw from this style has been gaining the tools and awareness to give my body what it needs. You learn to recognize what areas of your body need your attention and the movements that will support these areas. That may take time but just keep listening and following your body.

@StrengthFlowFitness
@StrengthFlowFitness 6 лет назад
Approach your movement like a researcher. Find the patterns that elicit the issue and go through them slowly and very deliberately. See if you can make subtle changes to your position and alignment to change the sensations. Through repetition you'll build your awareness of the signals your body is sending. You'll begin to create some working theories around the issue based on your lifestyle, past experiences, and what you're learning from the movement. Understand there will always be those little things. No need to be overly alarmed. Be aware of those little hitches and twinges and keep challenging them in your practice.
