Great use of both trucks. A lot of arm chair recovery experts love to point out "but technically you could have done everything with one truck!" Yes, probably, but why stress out and push the truck to the limits when you have the means to do it safely if you have the equipment readily available.
Those rotators are very capable, but they are also very expensive and there is no point in trying to showing off and risk damaging the brand new truck when you have a second truck available to help.
Good job Trent. Take care of yourself buddy, be safe, work safe. I unfortunately can no longer do what I love doing so I will be back in the Mixer. Neck and back surgerys from a few years back has left me with nerve damage for life. I got back in it last year after being out for a few but my neck and back can't take it. If I had a swamper I might be able but they don't pay for one. So I'm back in the Concrete Mixer but Towing&Recovery will always be my passion.
It seems that unhooking and storing the white and blue hook on those 'storage' rings on the boom is quite a challenge in terms of reaching and having to lift up the hooks to undo them, then avoiding dropping them on the tool boxes below. Wouldn't it be easier to clip those hooks into some of the yellow rings on the rear of the truck and keeping them within easy reach to unhook and store away when done?
I prefer the cleaner look of the hooks up in the boom plus having them down in the rings scratches everything up. I don’t mind the additional 20 seconds it takes. Just trying to keep the truck looking new that’s all:) thanks for watching!
Awesome video Trent !!!! Noticed /heard you straining or over exerting yourself a few times during the video . Be careful and don't reinjure yourself !!!!!
Second video of your channel the first one was of the truck blow out a right front tire and was at a steep angle then this one is your rotator a brand new one ? Things looked too clean tires looked new. The leaning trailer was a good video you all made it look so easy in a potentially bad situation ... I have subscribed to your channel Is yours the only rotator ? So much for now be safe god bless.
Wise up and put those heavy hooks on the rings on the back of the truck instead of up on the boom. You are just asking to fall down and hurt yourself climbing up there every time - especially if it is raining. If you are worried about scratches buy some touch up paint.
which one is Darl. the red hat dude, long beard dude, or glasses dude. Trent, how rude of you to have your friends over and not introduce us to them, for that you're grounded for a week. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm sure it adds significantly to the cost of an already very expensive piece of equipment. I'm still waiting to find out why five feet of fore and aft travel is worth what it costs, relative to positioning the truck itself.
He explained this right at the very beginning. He said that the rotator could handle the load by itself but as the weight was near the limit of the rotator and they had a second truck in the yard they'll use both as it's safer.

Generally, I enjoy the Plaza videos more than the other two towing channels I'm subscribed to. You guys take the simplest approach and work well no matter how big the team is (2-3 trucks, 4-5 swampers). The guy from IL who posts is a real pro, even though he's young, but his company is otherwise filled with cretins. The guy from MO is far too itsi-poo for my taste -- everything is a major drama, and much of what he does is pretty basic. Anyway, I'm subscribed and enjoy your stuff. It's interesting that the other two keep the boom cables set up as a 2-part purchase (snatch block) and only go single when they need the extra cable length.
I don’t understand how it would be safer... quicker? Yes but I prefer to spend the extra 30 seconds of unhooking my cables from boom which provides a scratch free clean look
@@plazatowing Stick by your guns Trent, it is your truck and you don't have to do it to please anyone but yourself and your Dad. I admire and appreciate how you take care of your equipment and the pride you take in your equipment and your work. I find it interesting most of the time those who get in a hurry and slop thru the task then will sit on their hindside and run their mouths. Proud of you.
Fully loaded with everything possible. Over 1 million. You can order your own and cut back on equipment and cut costs. It appears that their 50 Ton only has 2 winches on the boom so that would save thousands of dollars but your limited in certain cases. I guess bottom line is you get what you order and order only what you think you need. Stripped down 50 Ton would still cost upwards of 800K.
Trent, you are making hard work of things, it would be better if you clipped winch cable's to the rear of the truck, and not on the boom, there would be less of a struggle. However I see you are doing ok, nice work

50 tons under perfect conditions. 100 thousand pounds. All depends on how much boom you have out and the angle of the boom also where your lifting. Such as back, side or corners. Hope Trent don't mind my input.
