I mean that happened to me back in the late 90s for my middle school the closest school was a five minutes drive but I had to ride a 30 minute bus to go to middle school because it turned into a "magnet" school that wanted to cater to whites that had better grades to raise the GPA in the area I wasn't "magnet" qualified so I didn't have the special tech classes they had I just had normal classes where it was just pure chaos and I'm 37 and remember it well
