A virtual awards ceremony took place on Friday, January 15, 2021 for the 47th annual Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art Membership Exhibition. Awards were presented in ten categories, including one work honored as “Best in Show.” The exhibition features 112 works created by 61 artists and will be on view January 16 through February 21, 2021.
Now in its 47th iteration, the annual Membership Exhibition showcases works exclusively by current Albrecht-Kemper museum members. Each member may submit two original works not previously exhibited at the museum. Artworks are divided into ten categories: Oil and Acrylic Painting; Watercolor Painting; Drawing: pencil, pastel, pen and ink; Printmaking; Photography; Ceramics; 2D Mixed Media; Sculpture & 3D Mixed Media; Digital Art; Fiber and Textiles. Entries were evaluated on technique, composition, and aesthetic appeal by a panel of adjudicators from the St. Joseph arts community.
The museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 1 PM to 4 PM. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for seniors, and $1 for students. Museum members and children under age 6 are free. For more information about the exhibitions, call 816-233-7003.
