I was sitting here in total PEACE and then... you had to BLAST MY SOUL off into the OUTER atmosphere with that RIDICULOUS "MUSIC" that scared the living CRAP out of me! What the heck were you THINKING ANYWAY? PLEASE, DON'T EVEN PUT MUSIC ON THESE VIDEOS! It's NOT necessary AT ALL!
This is so cool! I recently purchased unfinished wood jewelry boxes & was trying to figure out how to finish them. I wanted to use resin & this video really helped :)
Hi, it's drops of pur liquid silicone. Most art supply stores carry some type of liquid silicone. I've also used liquid silicone from the hardware store. I don't have the brand because I've transferred it to another bottle. I hope this helps. 😃
About gorgeous I love it! I've been wanting to do a box but wasn't totally sure how to resin it, thank you so much for sharing ❤ I'm a new subscriber 😊
Beautiful! How’d you get the edges to look so nice with the resin? I’ve done this and the edges have to be sanded and I can’t make them look nice. You did a fabulous job keeping it clean. ❤️
Kimi D thank you so much 💜 I let the resin set for about 7 hrs before removing the tape. I got a little bit of seeping but overall it came out clean. I was very methodical with my taping :)
Jose De La Luz I don’t think I’ve made a video with the taping. What matters the most is just being thorough when you go over it and rub it down really well. Hope this helps! 😄
@@larasartprojects8132 I am wondering the same thing - and more about the prep and process of the resin. It came out perfectly! I want to do this as an art project for my classes with print collage on top of the wood, resin on top. Do you have or would you do a tutorial video on working with resin: set up, clean up, kind, taping etc? Yours is the only video I can find that is close to what I am thinking of doing, but I have no experience with resin!!
Victoria thank you! 🙏 I did not do any surface preparation on this box. I have tried both ways on other projects and I didn’t really notice a difference. 💜
MUJHOOL thank you so much! 🙏 I usually peel it after 6 to 8 hours after depending on the thickness. I have found the longer you wait to peel the tape the harder it is because the resin hardens. 💜
I was wondering if your paint had silicone in it..and did you spray a varnish on the paint layer before you added the resin layer? It is a lovely piece.
I’m trying to get these boxes but I can’t seem to get them anywhere … where I’m from in Sxm the stores don’t have them any more it’s been 4 months now .😖😖 can you help me please ?
Brian Lavigne I completely agree! It came off very cleanly with no bleeding. I made a new video with a new box showing all the steps for that exact reason. Check it out :)
How did you not get resin to bleed under the tape. I've tried painters tape and the tape always peels back and the resin bleeds under and it becomes a big mess. How do you do it?
When I first tape the box I make sure that it’s as clean as I can can get it and when I tape it I scrape over it with a popsicle stick a couple of times. Most of the time I have good results but I’ve had my fair share of seeping. 😉
This was a great project that turned out just beautifully! That resin layer is fabulous!! I am just itching to make one now! Thank you so very much for sharing this. 😊💕
Azazel the materials vary in price but are not usually too expensive it’s the resin that gets costly. It also depends on the size of your tabletop. To know how much resin you’ll need I would check out the art resin calculator. Hope this helps 🙂
@@larasartprojects8132 Thank you. I do have a couple more questions if it doesn't bother you. What's in the initial white base? Can I synthesize it with something else? I'm on a $45 budget and already purchased the resin and paint.
Azazel the white paint is mixed with floetrol & water just like my other paints. If you already have your paints & resin you should be all good to go. The floetrol isn’t too expensive I think I paid 28$ for 3.78L but you could get a smaller bottle. I hope this answers your questions. Please feel free if you have any other questions 🙂
@@larasartprojects8132 It makes it look so much better, 1 other question, does the acrylic paint soak into the wood a lot? I have a few projects i want to cover using this technique but they are made from osb wood sheets.
FDCbadaman thank you! I’ve painted on a couple of different types of wood surfaces and I’ve had pretty good results. The wood did not soak up too much and I’ve had no warping. 🤞🏻
Does clear glue work the same way as Resin? I was wondering because I was thinking about doing this design on a box for my mother for mother's day but I only have clear glue. Your end product turned out great.
hello I know this is an old video but I was wondering if you can paint over the background before you pour the resin on it? I would love to make this into a background and then put a small decoration on top :) thank you!
This is very pretty. I'm curious about after you put resin on it. Did you pull the layer of dam tape so it could fall over the edge? Last time I did this I left the dam tape and it created a sharp edge to it, not a flowy rounded edge! Can you help me !
Thank you! 🙏 That has happened to me as well. It's all about timing, i usually remove the tape after 20 minutes to let it make a nice rounded edge. I hope that helps.
jitu jangid jitu jangid thank you! If I remember correctly it was white, artist’s loft gold, deco art tutti frutti pink, dioxazine purple & primary magenta. Hope this helps.
