Over the Labor Day holiday, I decided to head up to the mountains for a quick roadtrip. After flying into Denver and making a quick pit stop at the University of Denver to get my brother a shirt (he's an alumni) and Red Rocks to see where countless bands have done some legendary performances, I drove into the mountains.
I met up with an NJ friend in Buena Vista and then spent the afternoon wandering around Twin Lakes and Leadville. I then took the really long way to Breckenridge via Red Cliff and Minturn, where I'd stay for the night before winding my way back to Denver.
I can't wait to go back for hopefully more than 48 hours next time and explore more of Colorado and the west. The Rockies are special!
