You do realize what a gift you give to people around the world, don’t you? You show us the beauty of ALL human souls! You bring the reality of the shared kindness that is out in the world while the Media tries to get us to believe that only evil exists in certain areas! You are a blessing! I've found that the best cure for seasickness is being outside, in a place where you can SEE the sea. Motion sickness, of any kind, is usually caused by a disparity between what you can see and what you can feel. Staying in a cabin will only ever make it worse. Spent 30 years working aboard ships and I'd only ever start to feel seasick when I was concentrating on my job and ignoring my surroundings. Go and have walk around for 5 minutes and the feeling would subside again. Similar thing with carsickness. If you're concentrating on your phone, with the window closed, you'll get motion sickness. Put down the phone, open a window, look outside and you'll feel much better.

Yes, to avoid motion sickness on a ship if you stare at the line where the water and the sky meet it can help prevent nausea. You can do this outside or sit inside and look out a window. In a car, stare at the road ahead, don't try to read a book.

As a former sailor, though not prone to seasickness, A good thing to have handy is soda crackers. Plain is best. They give you something to have in your stomach, if you can't keep food down. If you are feeling nauseous, it gives you something to have in your stomach to prevent the dry heaves and possible internal problems.

I have travelled on a cargo ship a couple of times. There really isn't very much to do but I did enjoy a particular occasion in which the crew invited all the passengers on deck for a BBQ. Eating salmon and king prawns whilst the vessel drifted between multiple oil rigs was pretty cool. And the rooms themselves were plenty comfortable. I was fortunate in the respect that I was in a cabin with a single bed and shower.

I loved this adventure! It reminded me of trips on passenger and cargo ferries I took on my travels back in the 1980s--principally in Greece/Turkey, and Washington State/western Canada. The look and atmosphere of that ship is sooo familiar! Back then in the olden days of slow, analog travel, no internet, just chatting and hanging out with strangers. this sort of experience was common. It's reassuring to me that it still exists somewhere out there. I was luckier than you though in that I don't get seasick! I think you would've enjoyed it far more if you'd felt better. Still, you did an admirable job adjusting your modern, millennial pace to the tempo of the 20th century! I hope you'll always enjoy the memories. And for me, I'll just add that it was really nice not to see everyone wearing masks, and to be able to forget about covid nightmare world for half an hour. Thanks so much for the video!

I appreciate your channel so much - I agree with your stance on tourism, once I started traveling on my own when I was 18, I sought out ways to experience the places I visited through the eyes of a local, with people who lived there, and my desire was to spend my time living like I had always lived there and experiencing the culture of each place in ways I don't think many people think about. My favorite moments have been shared with strangers from many walks of life, and while I haven't gotten to travel in a long time, your videos give me that same feeling and I'm grateful for that. Something strange happens when you travel by sea. It's almost as if you slip into a different reality, time itself seems to pass differently. It's as if you breathe in when you board the ship but don't breath out until you disembark. She did not want to travel through Ukraine until 2022, because she knew that there was a war in the Donbass. Nazis kill civilians, shooting all around. The question is - why did she not want to go to Poland through Russia? Russia has really good roads - because built in Soviet union. So Ukrainian roads is a gift of gods from Soviet union

As on that time I believe that the road she took (which I’m assuming is Odessa-Uman’-Vinnetsya-Lviv-and then Poland) was mostly reconstructed! The Uman’-Odessa highway is quite good! But the little part at Letychiv… Kills me every time Sorry for spelling

I felt for you suffering through seasickness because I get horribly sick on boats, ship, as a passenger in a car, etc. But I had to tell you that the motion sickness "bandaid" that goes behind your ear (it stays on and works for 3-4 days and then you can put a new one on if needed) is a total game changer! It's a prescription medicine and it is amazing! Safe Travels!

I live in Michigan by one of the freshwater seas; where the blue water bridge is, and there are chances to take a cruise on a tanker. They even used to have one's way back on the famous Edmund Fitsgerald, which was the Titanic of the great lakes in Michigan. They're actually really nice, from what i have heard, good food and lots of time to look out over the lakes and the rooms are really nice.

The one that comes to my mind is Hannah Lee Duggin, The only problem is traveling around and across international boarders with pets. You would have to check out the limitations and regulations you could run into. Shared talents would be interesting to see.

I've been on a wild ride on a ship myself. Was on a cruise ship in the Gulf Of Mexico during Hurricane Ike. The captain would keep us in calm water during the day and then nose directly into the storm at night to get back on course. I felt sorry for the crew because they had endless messes to clean up including mine when I aimed for the toilet to puke but somehow missed. They were passing out sea sickness meds like free Halloween candy. Only time I've ever been sick on a boat and I spend A LOT of time out on the lake on my own 17' 7" fishing boat with the water sometimes pretty rough.

Eva, you are such an inspiration. I get teary eyed so often when watching your videos, simply because of your brave, raw gentled spirited humanity! My travels in the US are bittersweet, there's a lot of pain and growth, obstacles to overcome... and for me interpersonal relationships and being taken advantage of by people here in my country who lack morals. You've given me and my partner a window into places on the other side of the world, and along with your experiences has been a rekindling of our faith in humanity. Things are really rough over here in the States, socially, and I just really resonate with who you are as a person, and I never want to lose these beautiful aspects of our shared humanity. I am relieved you are tucking in for the winter, and I really REALLY look forward to what you decide to do come spring. Beaming tons of love and well wishes, prayers, good vibes from my little neck of the woods near the Canadian border in NE Washington. So grateful for your work here. Thank you so much. 🌈💖🤲🏽🌟🎶🚙🌄🌠💥🐄🍂🍁🌲🍃🚢☕💻🔧⚙🤗💕🥙🍜🌼🌆🌞✨✌🏽

To my surprise the sign at 3:11 is in Swedish. Must be an older Stena Line ferry that nowadays travels the Black Sea edit: This ship, M/S GREIFSWALD, was actually only chartered to Stena Line in Gothenburg, Sweden for two months in 1999. Somehow it got some Swedish saftey signs that are kept. Really cool!
