[48] SIX of SWORDS 

I’ve been watching tarot readings for over a year now. I guess I’ve been preparing myself to do readings myself one day. I did the same thing with oil painting. I watched and learned different techniques from different people for awhile and now I’m a professional oil painter and teacher. I just wanted you to know that I came across your tutorials a couple of days ago and I don’t think it was coincidence. You are truly an AMAZING teacher. You really have the gift of bridging knowledge. I’ve never had such a deep understanding of each card as well as the profound interconnectedness of the journey. Just like the six of swords I’ll have to break down, remove the swords and just fix my boat soon I “think” lol I’m so glad I found your channel! 🙏

i’ve always heard this card interpreted as, “moving through something” and never really connected much with it even though i tried my level best to. this is the beat explanation by far & it made so much sense. for me this series has been more about unlearning interpretations which never really had any basis to begin with. thank you 🙏🏽✨

I interpret this card differently. I see the boat as the ego personality and the boatman as the witness. The woman is the psyche (heart) and the water, the subconscious. These are just labels, you could call them whatever you want. The water (subconscious) is troubled on one side of the boat (ego), but the boatman (witness) is guiding the boat toward calmer water, that's on the other side of the boat, which hints, to me, of unity consciousness, perhaps. The woman (heart or psyche) is trusting the boatman (perhaps her animus) to lead her to safety from the current storm. Really enjoying your content and what you created here! Just had this realization I'm going to try to describe lol.. Not only is the boat riding on the water, but if you look at the picture as a whole, the water takes up more space than even the sky. The swords hardly pop above the level of the water (horizon) into the sky/air/wind/spirit. The man's head is only half above (hence half below). The stick has the greatest advantage, reaching above the water (toward the heavens of course) and with his LEFT hand. The stick is grounded; the key to rising above, moving forward... Imagine the characters are literally under water. The thoughts (swords) are practically drowning in the emotion (water). Only the staff is above water, with the man (driver, helper) able to get, first their mind, followed by their heart, then the remainder of their bodies to rise (with physical effort/wands) above the horizon view of this picture, to freedom. It's like, the only way to keep from drowning. Or to reframe, the best way to exist!

Hmmm I always struggled with this card because it shows moving toward calmer waters but I am left with the fact that there are flipping swords in the boat! You are taking the swords with you. Hahaha! Well you just gave me new insight into my struggle... fantastic!
