Watching a lot of RU-vid videos and start missing truck driving and otr, until I saw this video. Now, I know why I stop driving trucks. Some truck stops are depressing. Lol
It is awesome reading the comments about how people want to visit this place, I live right there by it, I dont think it's that special, but i see it almost everyday.
Cya I am moving once I am done with college. But I have never had anyone say that before. Normally I get told how nice Iowa people are and I'm like where tf did you go in iowa?? Cause I think everyone here sucks
As long as the blue light isnt flashing or blinking in like a emergency light style meaning if it's steady burn like in the headlights of that rig its fine.
A place that sells actual strobe lights and not cheap knockoffs. Honestly automotive stores need to start carrying real strobe lights. Those cheap ones are a joke and they're dangerous.
Love Iowa 80, been there several times and it is absolutely necessary to stop every time i drive by. I also highly recommend going through the museum behind the truck stop, lots of nice old trucks there.
Went there with my father around June in 2009, was when he was going to visit his parents when his load was passing through, don't remember it much but after watching this feels like I was just there, thanks for the nostalgia!
In the state of Georgia it's illegal to have red or blue lights without a permit I could be wrong but I think first time is a warning then the second time is a fine
It depends where you live and the cop that pulls you over. Some cops will pull you over just for having blue lights on your vehicle, while others will pull you over only if they are flashing blue lights.
I know here in Hawaii even on a big rig blue lights are illegal because our police cars only use blue lights (not the red/blue combo that most other states use)
Blue lights inside your truck are fine as long as they do not flash and are not visable outside the truck, on the outside of the truck while on public roads are illegal whether or not they flash but can be legally displayed on private property such as truck shows and truck stop parking lots which is handy if you have those duel led lights that switch color with the flip of a switch. At least thats my understanding of the federal laws, state laws may differ.
Blue lights on non-emergency vehicles are illegal in most states. I'm surprised that they seem to be encouraging it at this truck stop. What state is it in, by the way (if you mentioned it in the video, I don't guess I heard)?
Depends on the state. In Texas, construction vehicles have blue lights on them, esp highway construction. Most have a combination of blue, white, amber.
here in the netherlands we have a law that literally says : a driver of a vehicle may not have a blue strobe on his vehicle or he will be fined. inside a blue light or at the back or front is ok but no blue strobes
