I also bought an old HP power meter HP432B to utilize the chassis, display and PSU but it was working fine when it arrived, I felt sad destroying it and it is now gathering dust on the shelves :P
@@IMSAIGuy I didn't destroy it, I shelved the sensor and unit. It was sold broken because the screen protecting the LED is broken and dented top, seller don't want to deal with returns. It measure higher powers than what I needed most of the time.
I have been buying these for a few year as donor boxes and PSUs. they are great as the chassis are cast aluminium and aluminium plates. I have a ebay search notification for "HP438 lot" and I usually get them for 100$ for 3 pcs or something like that. 20$ is a really good price. Good luck with your project and watch out for those RIFA caps blowing. They are from Sweden just like I am but don't hold it against me, they are just showing their age :-). //Harry
