Ironically he was also called game manager fro most of his career, and supposedly it was mostly BB. I am a big fan of 49ers from Montana, Steve Young, Jerry Rice, watched every victory parade and now we have Purdy, Kittle, Samuel and Christian, aren’t we so lucky, let us enjoy this phenomenon that our great team is doing!!!!❤❤❤

Look at what some other players that have played with jimmy G have said about him. I have been a niners fan for a long time and I was never a fan of jimmy. He is a quiter compared to purdy imo.
One thing George would never say is that Jimmy was acually a game manager. Niner fans knew from Brock's first start that he was special and thats why they chanted his name. I totally agree. I had high hopes for Jimmy G but it felt like he had a ceiling, like Alex Smith. Both of whom I totally respected but they seemed to lack that Montana factor. Purdy seems to have it.
I don't want to count the chickens before they hatch. I bet you dollars to donuts that if this kid goes balls out and does real good in the playoffs and goes on to win the Super Bowl he still won't get the credit he deserves.. And it's mostly because the order he was picked in the draft..But if you think about it doesn't make sense. Because those top draft picks are expected to play good right out of the gate. So with Purdy it's even more impressive what he is doing. TBH I think people have been counting him out and he plays with a chip. We have 6 more games to go till it's all said and done just win them all I say . Why not. That will keep everyone's pie hole shut..

Anyone who watched the last game against the Cardinals and is honest with themselves can't deny that Purdy stands on his own merits. When he went out for those few plays, and Sam darnold was behind Center, the ball barely moved. As soon as Brock came back in plays were being made again.
Now because I’m use to how Brock plays, when I watch other teams play I just scratch my head at the decisions and the timing of these other QBs. Purdy is SO GOOD he makes it LOOK EASY. That’s why these people who aren’t watching all the time are blind to it.
Brock is a undoubtedly a fantastic talent but he's the perfect fit for Shanny's scheme like Joe was in Walsh's system. If Brock were on any other team he'd be a good solid QB but he shines like a diamond in Kyle's offense. He was born to lead this team with this talent at this time.
I think the issue Purdy haters have is the same reason I love the guy. It's the fact that he was Mr. Irrelevant last year. They just can't believe the very last pick in the draft is one of the best QBs in the league. I think it makes his story that much cooler than if he was a 1st-round pick, which, in hindsight, is where he should have gone. I wish my Saints would have drafted him. Although, we would have needed to pick up a new coach and OC. No QB could be successful under Allen and Carmichael. I think Cam is jealous because he knows Brock wouldn't make the same "business decision" that Cam made in the superbowl.
Tonight the sports guy said the Niners had good seasons without Purdy and to that I say without Jimmy G and Purdy they were 9 and 29. That's what's going for sports commentary.

Die hard 49er here. Why does it matter if he is managing the game? THATS HIS JOB. yes he has the best weapons around him. That’s good team building. What happened when he was injured? We lost. What happened when we had injuries earlier this year? We lost. We are a team. Collectively, we are the best. That’s what a team is. Everyone plays their roll. And when everyone does it, we are the best. Everyone has a roll to play. And he is playing his!!!!
Funny, Cam trying to make himself relevant by downplaying an elite QB. The thing is Cam was never a QB, he was a RB playing QB. Cam was a game manager to, he managed to lose games with barely 7 games above .500 over his career. Talk what you know Cam, running the football from the pocket.
Cam has been in the league a while now, and Purdy is just squarely better than him. I think Cam's statements are just thinly veiled admissions of jealousy. We all know that Purdy will continue that franchise tradition we remembered with Montana and Young. We see it in the way that he clicks with his offense, the rest of the team, the management, the press, and the fans. He's the real deal. And on top of that, Purdy is also a very humble person, which just adds to that level of charisma. Kittle was 100% correct with his assessment.

The fact is that every 49er fan would take Purdy over any QB in the league. People who watch the Niners know he is the guy. As Michael Irving said weeks ago, Purdy is the best QB to run that offense, even more than Mahomes.
The thing that is different about Kittle’s response is Purdy. He could say nice encouraging things about the others (as he should) but Brock’s play speaks for him. The difference isn’t him saying nice things, it’s him saying true things!

Cam was a generational talent that underperformed in the grand scheme. He still isnt mentally mature enough to understand that just because someone like Purdy isnt as naturally gifted as him.... Doesn't mean he can't out perform him by using every once of his potential unlike Cam who wasted much of his.

Haters will never credit purdy he is so fun to watch. Jinny g had the keys to this tank of a team and couldnt drive near as well as purdy has. Put cam on this niner team as qb and watch him wreck it into the ground.
One of the things I've noticed about Brock is the way he goes through the progressions on pass plays. Cool, calm and collected. Just watch his head as he scans the field and you'll see someone who doesn't get rattled or hurries. Don't like to say, but he genuinely looks like a seasoned veteran.
Yeah, kittle nailed it, the nfl is even poor on their ratings, he has been rated number one according to numbers all year and this is the first time all season the analysts actually rated him number one… put this in the bank, he will be one of the next greats, weather it’s Manning, Young , Brady or Montana… he will one day be up there in the ratings of top 10 QB’s
Look @02:34, Brock is looking at the receiver while the ball is headed to where the receiver is going to be. Every team, EVERY team would take a game manager that does what Brock Purdy does.
That defense is "pretty good" LOL and Brock is a great QB. Period end of story. He does what a GREAT QB does. Make great plays, great reads, executes consistently on a very high level. The young man is very very good at his profession.

Kittle keeps it real period. He'd gush over Jimmy because Jimmy had good success. Obviously Jimmy wasn't as consistent or reliable as Brock or Jimmy would still not only be on the team but maybe even be the starter. Everyone knew that Jimmy could be erratic and throw an ill advised INT at the most inopportune time. Niner brass had more belief in Brock - hence the departures of both Trey and Jimmy - and it's paying dividends BIGTIME. We can talk all we want and defend our Niners to the hilt but that's what fans of other teams do too. We ain't got the patent on it. It's just that this year we've got the best chance to see a sixth ring through and everyone of us know we're poised for it. Go Niners.
I didn’t mind him calling him a game manager, because that’s not really a derogatory term as people take it. What I didn’t like was when he says they’re not winning because of him.
People believe in Brock Purdy. HIs teammates believe in him, his coaches believe in him and his fans believe in him. Newton never had that people believe in him like they do Purdy. And I think it can be summed up with that fumble that Newton jumped away from whereas people believe that Purdy would die for his team if he had to.
Purdy leaves the game for a few plays in the Arizona game, Sam Darnold replaces him, and it's like night and day. If Purdy is simply a game manager type of system quarterback, there shouldn't have been any difference.
I'm an Eagles fan, I don't really hate the Niners, but regardless if Purdy was Healthy you would have lost last year, we knocked out two QBs, that being said it's a new Year and Purdy is second in MVP to me behind Cheetah, he isn't a game manager, his footwork is elite, his accuracy is elite, his decision making is elite, only knock you could say is maybe his arm strength. cam newton's last 4 seasons where painful to watch and has no business commenting on Brock Purdy. Cam had more interception than yards passing in a given game.

I don't beleive so. As a Seahawks fan all these years I don't think anyone feared or respected a Cam Newton lead team. It was clear to us that he didn't have the mind nor heart of a champion. Right now we're not sure that anyone can even touch Purdy never mind test him. That's a helpless feeling to have against an opponent and Purdy is just surgical in his execution of his offense.
