Is it true 49ers were interested in drafting Piersall in 2023. Given Herm had him early on, they sure would have been watching carefully. Seems they kept a hunger deep under wraps. It’s always a crap shoot, but I think they think he’s special.
Losing Leroy Watson to the Browns & ultimately the Titans really hurt but while I definitely agree with David that finding OTs is a very difficult task & it was very unlikely for one to fall to them at 31 they don't have anyone in the system developing. Its Moore, Parker & Hubbard. I mean maybe that's why they have Kingston working in at OT right now but eventually they are gonna have to commit to developing a OT, whether thats an early rd pick or later rd prospect. Since they took Mike McGlinchey in 2018 they have only drafted 2 OTs (Colton McKivitz & Jaylon Moore) & even then IIRC McKivitz & Moore were intended to be Guards not OTs

Puni n Kingtson are really a guard types. Vish said, O-line rookies need time to transition to pro, both physically n mentally. Niners playbook is complex, takes time to assimilate. Kyle's scheme n Brock ability to use his short area mobility to make off schedule really help the O-line. Niners been using FAs or trades to fill gaps in the D-line. This yr, 2 OT or OG FAs signed. Hopefully, they can be a good backup or starter. Brock n this #20-28 ranked O-line still got to SB. Brock still lead league in passing stats wise. Can't have stars at every position. Role players fill need. Niners been letting role players walk instead of paying up, getting comp picks to get replacements. But doesn't always work. JWard, DJJones, Alz, etc...defense fell to #13. Crazy, Niners trade pick with Chiefs, so they could pick an OT. WtF? Assume the Chiefs used press coverage to slow Brock ability to read quickly n blitzes/stunts to throw off his anticipation. Niners counter in SB? After the SB, was more speed at receiver was a need? Fans think Kyle ignore the O-line, except later. But you make it sound, like Niners might have wanted OT, but could not get because low 1st rd or wouldn't pick one because of talent gone when turn came. Niners might have valued Pearsall n Green more after top OT gone. But, Where was the boldness that drafted Trey with 3 1st rd picks. Or said, Hargrave was the answer to the D-line, not. Moody isn't money or Robbie yet. Brown is promising, but started because injury to Huff. Expect same from this yr draft, few starters, role players or backups. If Snead was truthful, no competition. You speak all the BS you want. If the 49ers have a super team it an’t gonna matter if KS can’t make the right call at the right time ! 49ers should have won the SB in Feb24. KS blew it especially with the OT decision.
49er Oline measures to be an average line in the league last season. They are trending downward. Trent Williams MIGHT get 10 starts. More likely 8 or less. The hall of fame tackle is just getting old, not his fault. The rest of the Oline is marginal.
