The rain affected Niners defense. Too much slipping and falling during coverage

Frankly, qbs that don’t run can always be played this way. Take away the safety blanket and bring pressure. Bend in the midfield but hold the red zone when things are condensed. Goff doesn’t worry me, but Lamar Jackson sure does.😅

Hi Jonny huge fan of your content. I was wondering if maybe in the off-season you might be able to do a compare and contrast of our defense under Wilks vs DeMeco. I would be curious to know what the film says in the differences in philosophy. Wilks takes so much heat from our fan base, and I was wondering if a change in defensive philosophy has been cause for what appears to be a lack of aggression from our front 7. I remember how fast our defense used to play, and I wonder why we feel so slow. Or is it as simple as losses like that of Huffanga and guys like DJ Jones?

I viewed the Packers game as the NFC Championship. It will be a few times in the next decade. A lot of similarity between the scheme and head coaches. The Lions are close to comparison with the playmakers but lack of experience. The Lions defense is also worse than the Packers, I am thinking we are going to win with a wider margin in this game. The future looks like a lot of battles between these three teams in the playoffs barring injury and great coaching replacements when coordinators are hired for head coaching positions.

Regardless of how it's done Shanahan has to run the ball more, what he did against the Packers was down right criminal. And it's not like the Packers were stuffing every rushing attempt.

In the regular season, when Deebo plays, the Niners are unbeatable. When Deebo does not play, they lose. If I was the coach, I would use Deebo as a decoy early in the game because most of the attention will be on Deebo. When the other players get hot, then I would go back to Deebo.

All the Lions problems with motion should have them very confused and out of position against our 49ers. That's either a coaching problem on their end or an intelligence problem in their back end players.

The 9rs ranked 25th against the run to the boundary, GB gashed them ( one for 50+) on the exact play you showed Gibbs repeatedly, running to the outside. Look for plenty of that. Also purdy is still a 7th round pick with limited experience, so with the lions being #2 against the rush( slowing CMC) the game is going to hinge on a young QB, and when he shows his inexperience and they lose.... WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?? Wait till he gets hit by a blitzing safety running at full speed unblocked and watch him revert to Mr irrelevant. 49rs fans can't be to comfortable with that, especially when he gets picked off a few times. He's going against a 2 time probowl selection, 7 year veteran with a Superbowl appearance, who would you rather have? And all the stats go out the window, stats don't win you games, experience and clutch performance win so this is going to be a rough game for a team that could have been beat by the lowly Packers. LOOK OUT.... Detroit just might womp on you ESPECIALLY if you think it's the same old lions and underestimate this rising young power who's going to be playing in the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP for years to come.
