As a lifelong Niners and Stanford fan, CMC has been one of my all time favorites since his sophomore year and I knew he was gonna be special in the NFL. Him coming back to the Bay and now staying here long term is a fairytale ending… a story so good it needs a ring on top.
LOVE the coverage. We appreciate how effortless it seems. As a critique, every time I've watched you over the past 2 months you've mentioned how other reporters are way off base on certain topics. It feels petty. Just do your thing, we see you.. no need to mention the incompetence of others. Salute
Now, if he can just stay healthy and Shanahan doesn't run CMC into the ground! Because with CMC we are a totally different team, THE DUDE IS JUST ON A WAY DIFFERENT LEVEL! I thank God that CMC is a Niner. GO NINERS FROM THE GREAT STATE OF ALASKA!!!
The salary cap is going up.. but so is player contracts... WR's getting 30+ million a year... QB's are breaking 40+... it's dumb... How about spread that money to other important players too...
Second, the 49ers basically are going to have 100 million million dollars in fat cat money in 2027 between Trent Williams Christian McCaffrey and Nick Bosa. How is that? OK? What are we talking about here?
Nasty unfaithful 49er fans talking bad about Aiyuk. No said these things when Bosa didn't show up. Bosa had a low season after being rewarded and he got Steve Wilks fired. White players always getting the big bag so easy, while black players have to wait out and get stressed.😮This is UNFAIR.😢
Along with Floyd it’s the void years that catch up with you down the road. CMC contract is no exception. Credit card will need to be paid. Cap hell on the horizon
@@DavidLombardi The most recent contracts seem like that’s the case. Defer the payments and spread it out with void years. Niners are all in for this year. U know more than me
If Aiyuk is fined $100k for missing this minicamp, does that drop his salary from $14.1M to $14.0M and thus this year’s cap hit by same $100k? And if so, using your annual sinks analogy, can we roll over another $100k to the effective 2025 cap, increasing the size of the 2025 sink?
David, I’d like to understand a few more things: * Void years - if there’s no Base, is he playing for us? How does the bonus amounts get counted against the cap? * which of your salary boxes (base, bonus) is guaranteed and what not? Like, what if cut or traded or retirement or career-ending injury ? * are all these accordion deferments just wiped off team books if any of the above happens? * if so, why would players take less now in order for it to be dumped when the big money comes? * isn’t that EXACTLY what happened to Armstead? Thx for helping me understand the game better!
He said they manage the cap better than anyone in the league... I got two words for you. Howie Roseman. You have all of these All Pros you have to pay, Trent Williams, Deebo, Aiyuk and Purdy will get a massive contract andcthe following year, Greenlaw and Warner... None of those guys will take less thsn than Market rate, so at some point the dead money will come into play because you cant assume the cap will adjust at this rate every year.
We need to send Aiyuk packing he is about him, all his BS on social media after the SuperBowl now he can't bother himself to show up to MANDATORY camp.....we do not need him, trade his azz or make him play his current contract.
It’s baffling to see how often he gets mentioned, and how many viewers he seems to have. It makes no sense to me. He’s been wrong about basically everything, year after year, and has stirred up so much drama and bs along the way. I have no clue why anyone would continue to listen to him, other than they like drama. He’s not sharp or informative about football at all. I’d imagine his audience is mostly kids and other depressed/angry people who project their unhappiness onto others.
The Niners have 5 rings. They’ve been as good as anyone since kyle got here. We all want a ring, but things need to go your way. Enjoy watching hall fakers play for your team, winning games every year. That’s rare and hard to do.
At the rate the nfl is growing the cap might be 300mil😂 Also is that the actual cost or did you just look at the APY value and call that the 2027 payout?
