NFL players are being allowed to violate their signed contracts. This should not be allowed. These players should be fined for more than their contract. Greed has overtaken NFL players. Them using the excuse of one player getting paid more than them as their excuse for their hold out doesn't cut it, since they signed a contract to receive the money they do. If they cannot live up to their contract than they should not be allowed to sign with any team because they lack the integrity to be trusted to live up to their contract, which acts as an unnecessary risk for all clubs.

You won't get enough for a trade , keep him on the 5th year and let him loose money and ruin his career like laveon bell if he holds out to show other players an example

The Trent stuff is the more concerning to me, honestly. He has three years left on his contract, so he's probably trying to get more money up front so he can retire before his contract is up. BA is far more clear. With Trent, you could lose him now and have a huge hole on the O line, repeating the mistakes of last season. You could also restructure, which might affect the cap, and then have him leave prematurely.

He expressed the normal sadness at losing, but what was behind all the anger expressed by his girlfriend, family and him at the time. He decline two good offers like a Free Agent. It is what it is now. You will get fined for every thing missed from this point forward. Stand your ground, 49ers. Either play on the 5th year, agree on the shared contract, or take the Browns trade (the only real viable option unless the Pats offer a 1st round pick).

I said this a few weeks ago and I think it's still relevant. Why not the following deal? : an amended contract for his 5th year (only), pursuant to which he receives his current $14MM, plus $571K for each game in which (1) he starts and (2) in the sole, absolute and unfettered discretion of the team, he exerts his best competitive efforts during the game and the preparation therefor. Thus, if Aiyuk plays every game, including a 4-game playoff run, and does not malinger or half-ass it on the field, he receives a total of $26MM for the season. This all presupposes that such a contract is permissible under league rules, the CBA, and applicable law.

Niners need to set a 72-hour deadline for him to sign or make him play (or not) on the 5th year option. If he chooses to lose money, that’s on him. If he doesn’t sign within the 72-hour window, yank the current deal that’s on the table.

Pearsall and Cowing more than make up for the loss of Aiyuk. Anyway, Purdy does not need Aiyuk. Aiyuk needs Purdy. Purdy makes Aiyuk look better than he really is. How many times have we seen Purdy lay the ball in Aiyuk's hands in stride? And how many times have we seen Purdy directing Aiyuk where to run? It's a guarantee Aiyuk will not have the same success on another team.

I would trade both Wiliams and Aiyuk to any club willing to pay them what they believe they are worth. Would not want disrupters on the team like them. Williams is too old to demand the money he wants and I am sorry, but Aiyuk is not elite, he is just very good.

Someone needs to hold the front office accountable…this isn’t a one off. They do this EVERY YEAR!!! They need to get better at negotiating deals early in the spring or summer with home grown talent

Deebo Samuels was a second round pick and Terrel Owens was a third round pick. The rounds they are picked from usually indicates how advanced their techniques are, but it is no guarantee they will live up to their hype. I would gladly take a second and a third for Aiyuk.

What is the point of having a "great" receiver who becomes disgruntled about pay issues and becomes the team "mother" in the bromide, "When mother ain't happy, nobody's happy?" Further, what's the point of trading such a one to another team for that team's "great" receiver, who is also disgruntled about pay issues and is becoming a distraction within his team? The 49ers under Shanahan run a diffuse offensive strategy in which there are multiple capable receivers seeking to get open at set spots on the field. If five of those receivers catch 35 to 60 passes during the regular seasons, they and the team have done well. When you add in the other receivers such as the 2nd TE, the FB, the HBs and 2nd teamers who caught under 35 receptions in regular season, then you've got plan and a team to implement it. In the 49ers offense, you absolutely don't need a 100+ receptions by a WR. Secondly, the 49ers Main Office should dictate from the beginning of its relationship with a player that all season contracts be negotiated and signed ten days after Spring training. Every year each contract would receive a 3% cash guarantee. Only healthy players would be assigned to the practice squad. Any such player called up from the practice squad would receive a 3% cash bonus. All injured players would be put on injured reserve. If their injuries would take six weeks or more to heal, then they should be given a severance pay and put on waivers. If they passed waivers, then the MO should advise them to maintain themselves on their severance pay and heal. After the end of the season, if they are healed and want to rejoin the 49ers, they would be welcomed by signing a provisional contract. If all went well and the football skills demonstrated were needed, then the player could be resigned to a contract for the upcoming season by the deadline posted. All contracts would be valid except in the case of injury requiring greater than six weeks to heal. In the latter case, a waiver of such.player would be executed. Once again, if a player passed waiver, he would receive his severance pay and attempt to replay the previous cycle. However, the contract would include a "kiss of death" clause by which the player was precluded from trying a third kind. Some sort of firm approach, known to all, that was just to all players, as well as ownership & mansgement, should be made an integral part of being a 49er. Some may call it "anti-primadona" and there would be justice in such a description. As things currently stand, variations of hold-outs will proliferate at the 49ers. Why? Nick Bosa has shown that it works. He was the first. This year there are two. Next season there will be four to six. Where sharks smell blood, they swarm. Kyle & John have shown distinct weakness in trying to placate l'enfant terrible abusing the rules for higher pay. Make clear to all team members that this will not work anymore with the 49ers. This team has been generous to its players. It has nothing to apologize for. Now it is time for the 49er management to demonstrate that it is also as tough as its players. There will be a new day at the 49ers, or the tantrums will be as common as sore muscles.

Screw him and move on. The niners will have no problem replacing him, they’re gifted with some fine receivers.

The problem with BA is that she has been presented with all the options and she has rejected all of them so...what the hell does she want? Time for the 49ers to put on their macho pants and take action with or without BA's consent, period..

The Niners trading for Chase is good, Pickens is potentially as good. Pickens won't demand as much as Chase because his QBs have not been good enough to showcase how great he is.

On Trent...again it is the front office's fault for not having chosen players in the draft to begin replacing these veterans, the OL has never been a priority until now with Puni but years have passed without paying attention to it.

I think his teammates need to put pressure on BA like Steve Young did. There’s no “I” in team!

The niners should trade him to the Browns for Cooper straight up. If he resigns, the Browns send the niners a second round pick. If he sits out or doesn’t extend, they send the Browns a 3rd round pick. Win win. I feel that’s a sensible solution.

If you get Aiyuk to the table and an agreement is made; What is to prevent Aiyuk from claiming that he has a back injury again? Nothing. It is time to trade him, fine him and/or suspend him get as much of your 14.1 million back. By Aiyuk waiting after teams are reduced to 53 man offer, has made a trade difficult because others teams won't be willing to trade from their 53 man roster. This leaves future draft picks the only option that other teams have to trade with. Aiyuk has proven not to be a team player. Why would any team want him on his team? So Aiyuk will NEVER get the money he wants now, as he is too much of a risk. Aiyuk is a bust and a greedy loser!

IMHO, the 49ers never had any real intention of re-signing Aiyuk unless it was at their price, and if they ever even offered Aiyuk $26 million, I'll bet that they didn't move off of it by much. Primarily because they can't afford it.

The fact BA is ignoring his contract obligation would be a red flag to me If I were another team looking at trading for him. No one wants a disrupter in their organization that is going to renegotiate mid-contract and not honor their team commitment.

Trading for Chase isn't gonna fix the issue. The issue for both these players is the contract. And Chase wants bigger money

Aiyuk cost us a roster spot!!! We already had to insult spots at WR. That spot could have saved our 2024 6th round pick Kingston (OL).

As far as whether the team has been holding off of a trade because: a. They hope to reconcile, or b. Insufficient trade compensation? I think the answer is probably a little bit of both.
