The Gipson hit was definitely a clean hit but the 49ers still had a chance to win and their kicker missed. The Browns won end of story and I'm a 49er fan
as a browns fan, you don't speak for us because you are braindead... we had WAY more bad calls AGAINST us that game... Njoku touchdown was 100% ROBBED.
Browns defense IS legit, I agree. But without Deebo and McCafrey 2 of the 3 best players on our offense, you can’t compare what the browns faced vs what other teams faced this year. Still… I’m sad lol.
The entire game had terrible calls on both sides of the ball. Browns got the lead on some controversial calls but if you can't hit your 41 yard FG after the defense gives you like 38 yards down the field you deserve the L.
You're not wrong but you act like the entire team kicked the field goal and not one guy. You act like the offense didn't do their part and put the kicker in a position to do his job. 1 person missed that field goal, just like 1 ref made a terrible call that could have potentially effected the outcome of the game. Regardless of the team you support, packers for me, officiating CANNOT continue to be that bad in important moments like that.
@@austins161The officiating has been terrible for decades with no consequences. So they CAN continue to be that bad in important moments. Honestly, that call was pretty standard for any small market team out there when they're playing one of the big market teams, like the packers or the Brady led patriots.
Roger Goodell is a powderpuff girls football league owner. He likes soft women flag football and wants to NFL to be flag football soon maybe (not really)@@rs7656
This game had it all. - Injuries everywhere - Rough QB performances - Brutal and shitty officiating - Less than ideal weather - Tragic chokes What a mess. Browns defense was solid, btw. Edit: Beware going in replies
Purdy was FAR better then what the browns qb was ,maye single handedly made sure 49ers win the game ,also am a browns fan and i know purdy was fucked in the ass without a condom solely by jim Schwartz, PJ walker on the other hand fucked the defense of the browns BY HIMSELF, so it wasn't 2 terrible qb plays , jim shwartz made sure purdy can't do jack shit BUT he still was able to do some in the last drive ,pitty as the kicker missed but this loss wasn't on purdy that much ,kyle Shanahan got outcoached like mcvay got outcoached by belichick in the superbowl
It sucks that refs have really taken over this league, I mean 200 penalty yards combined is crazy. There was a penalty on 20% of the plays, I promise you that is not a made up number
As a Browns fan, I was happy at the outcome, but if a neutral fan were to have watched this game, he probably would have switched to something else long before the end. Just too many penalties called on both sides, many ticky-tack.
I'm so happy that "Due to NFL rules we are forced to cut away to the next scheduled program..." I am so happy that I missed the entirety of the final drive and was forced to watch the pregame for the Lions vs Bucs game, thank you NFL for your wonderful fan experience.
You knew the refs were going to be bad all day after watching the first quarter. Browns called for a face mask on a punt return, NFL calls from NY to say it was the 49 who had a grip on the facemask. Replay showed this was an obvious miscall by the refs against the Browns. Then on the ensuing drive the Browns QB sneak on 3rd down, refs give a bad spot about half a yard off from where it should have been. They bring the chains out, the ball is clearly past the chain link and touching rod, yet the refs says its 6 inches short (a wtf moment). Replay is done and this obvious bad call is overturned.... then we get 3 more quarters of horrible refs.
All you can do is tip your hat off to Cleveland's defense. They were amazing in this game. Browns were the better team here, whether the calls were bad or not. Hopefully the Niners and Purdy learn something from this loss, and Moody's (the kicker) confidence isn't ruined. Let's see how they respond next Monday night at Minnesota.
Yea as a whole that's why they won the kicker let his team down hopefully he improves because kicking field goals when we are up by 20 doesn't mean a thing compared to the 2 he missed today I miss Robbie Gould
@@bigdawg12z niners fan here, the call was shit and let the browns get a "game winning" field goal. although yes our kicker missed a field goal he should make 10/10 times, that call still lost us the game. (this is not cope i swear)
Stop it! So ironic that people are saying the refs are FOR the Browns of all teams. *There is nothing LESS likely on the planet!* Awful calls on BOTH sides. 7 of the 49ners point came from a dirty pick at the end of the game when the *pulled Amari Cooper down.* They had chance after chance and failed. Browns outplayed them on defense.
49ers fan all my life. But can’t make excuses the Browns D came to play and gave us problems all day. They deserved the win. Had a few bad calls against us be we overcame it, marched down the field and missed a FG. Wasn’t our day today. But the wheels haven’t fell off. This is the NFL!, only the ‘72 Dolphins 🐬 made it through the entire season, playoffs, and championship game unscathed. Realistically we are going to drop 2 or 3 games. Just have to make sure we get better from it.
@@TazhiPalaceSupporterand a phantom holding call that brought back a touchdown, as well as the refs trying to screw us out of a first down, and also a blatant missed face mask in the first half alone. It was bad for both sides today, plus both teams had key injuries. The result of this game is legit.
@@TazhiPalaceSupporterthere is always going to be missed calls and bad calls in any game. I’ve always been of the mind blaming the refs for games is a fools errand. The refs are only a factor in a close game. If you don’t want the refs involved, leave no doubt. Blow the other team out. Otherwise we have to deal with the human factor of the game. It is what it is.
No one's talking about it but Brock Purdy going out and high-fiving the field goal unit on their way back to the sideline says a ton about his leadership ability. I don't think you'd see a lot of other quarterbacks in the league doing that. Even the greats like Brady would be sitting on the bench.
At the start of the game the commentators said that Brock Purdy never lost a regular season game. Well let’s just say the football gods didn’t like that.
@@DBE.S.O510Are you being serious because yeah the Browns got some calls but before the 4th quarter the Browns were getting screwed by the refs, there was a blatant face mask that wasn’t called among other things.
From a Lions fan, glad to see my brothers and sisters in Cleveland pull off a MASSIVE W LIKE THIS!!!!! We’ve both been through a lot of pain, but we’re getting better day by day. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@Vagorim I totally understand & respect that man. Unfortunately that's the only form of pure athletics that we have because it can't be gambled on... Crazy world!
Gipson's hit was all good. Nothing dirty about it. That's a football play. 49ers had the 41-yard FG to win the game, and their kicker missed! That's football. Great win for Cleveland!
As a 9ers fan, we lost, it is what it is. Browns defense is legit and we just didn't bring it this week. But as a football fan it was a painfully boring, frustrating game to watch. There were drives seemingly with flags on every damn play, not to mention the bad calls I think the refs might have had more yards than either team combined, and if not, it has to be close. NFL somehow still needs to learn to just let the teams play.
Thanks, but as a Browns fan we didn't deserve this win. 49ers played themselves, and we are still not a great team. Great defense, but bottom 10 offense.
@@mithvibes4727 Correct As I had a huge 50th on that Sunday.....my childhood friend showed up in his 9rs polo. it's all good tho, we met Joe Mont and Terry together ( 4 yrs ago) and shared stories. All good my man all good....
@@sekiko7183 On any given Sunday, that can happen, take it when lady luck can give it. Browns offense can't be as bad as Good ol Mr. Matt Canadas, he's making sure of that for ya.
0:50 It was clean on replay but the ref has to make a judgement call on that in that moment in real time and Gipson just didn’t sell it well enough to the ref to not throw the flag
If the bills lose it has to be a fixed week. No way the 9ers lose to a 3rd string, eagles lose to Zach Wilson and bills lose to the worst team the giants ha
I'm a 49ers fan and I've watched my Dad be a Browns fan for years. I've seen Cleveland be on the bad side of the calls for years so I guess he deserved this lmao. Nonetheless, niners got no excuse. They gotta be able to kick field goals.
Purdy has only lost 1 game in the regular season since starting and people calling him a bust just because of 1 bad game! If the kicker had made it people would be praising him for getting them down the field to kick it. This was a sloppy game on both sides with injuries, penalties, and bad decisions on both sides. 1 game doesn't change the fact that the 49ers are one of the best NFL teams right now.
Exactly, and he can’t really be called a busy either considering he was the last pick in the draft. This is one of those for San Francisco where stuff happens and for Cleveland it’s a great win for them, definitely much needed for them as DeShaun Watson is still injured with his throwing shoulder. I do agree with you that the 49ers are still one of the best teams, it’s going to be hard to stop them come playoff time.
Browns defense is good and Purdy came through at the end. I would have liked to see another play before the field goal attempt. Officials were indecisive throughout the game, so not surprised about those last calls. The 49ers won’t use this as an excuse, they’ll grow from this.
@@crs092 game would’ve been over if Moody could hit a field goal.. Game wouldn’t have been so close if Purdy didn’t play like a 7th round draft pick. But keep saying “rEfS bAD”
They shut down the screen passing game of Cmac n Deebo which in turn made Purdy to look like an average rookie, they dared Purdy to throw down the middle and it got intercepted
@@DangleSan That isn't it. It was the RAIN. Early on when it was raining Brock Purdy was struggling. He even almost fumbled because the ball was wet and slick.
@@BeingButterfly the 3rd stringer PJ didn't seem to effected by it, Also it wasn't raining that hard in the 2nd half when Purdy was REALLY ASS no excuses take the L and hold it till next week bish
Its a learning moment forsure hopefully Moody uses this as fuel and keeps it moving. The team definitely got your back, and we are still top of the league 💪🏽
If the 49ers played the Browns again without rain I think they'd be a different result. Brock Purdy was clearly struggling to throw a wet football in the rain.
This is a main reason I’ve been hating NFL. Obviously I wants the Niners to win but I don’t really care if it’s a clean contest. Those seriously bogus calls at the end ruin the whole fan and entertainment experience.
Great to see the Browns win this game. Sure there were calls that gave them an advantage to get in position to score, but bad calls were made on both sides. Now hopefully this will give the Browns confidence going forward after the shellacking they got in two games earlier.
Major props to Cleveland's defense for slowing us down so much. Hopefully we can clean things up in time for the Vikings. I'm still mad about the Gipson penalty, but at the end of the day, we need our kicker to hit makeable field goals.
The Gibson hit absolutely is in the head or neck area. At mark 00:42 , Gibson leads with his right elbow which makes first contact w/ the facemask and he follows through with the force of his shoulder behind his elbow. It was a good call.
I was at the game 😎 Browns win. Niners lose. I couldn't be happier with browns defense today. Held an explosive offense to there worst game!! Go browns!!
Lol.barley lost to.the browns get real if thats the best you guys got and the very worst lmao watch the full game again unbiased and youll see reality yes browns won yet how you let purdy come back playing so poorly to.allow a kicker a chance to rip your heart out lmao i laughed at the fact he even drove the ball down your throats end of 4th quater like weak.... i would still consider that a loss even if the niners got the kick how bad they played yet almost won.... at least it was to the browns. By our flaw
As a niners fan this is not why we lost we had what 23 penalties for 202 yards , we aren’t winning with that and without protecting our qb and he’s running for his life every damn play and miss field goals only ones that showed up was our D they just got tired
Fr when Trent motioned to throw his helmet on the ground, I was like wtf you pi$$ed for, you can't even give your qb a few seconds to throw the damn ball
See it's not only the Bills Scott Norwood who misses wide right, Mooney of the 49ers also missed wide right as well. This game will now be known as the 49ers wide right game.
So true. It’s so soft. The fantasy nerds have taken over and have no idea what real football was and it was great. They’re ok with game altering soft penalties that were never intended to be penalties.
I’m never going to get over the raiders two “roughing the passer” calls. I’m just glad they lost both those games because both hits were very very very very very soft.
And that first hit is why I no longer watch the nfl. That was a clean hit, great defense. Lead with the shoulder, hit with the shoulder, but because it was a big impact penalty. Defenders are handcuffed and not allowed to do anything. Game is whack today.
Scripted out they know who's going to win ahead of time. It's up to the players coaches and refs to put a good show on but in the end they have to make sure the right team wins
Our starting QB didn't want to be caught dead against that SF defense.... He was trying to avoid the humiliation...... It's even more humiliating that he sat out of a win.
Agreed, he's a massive flop. We should have kept Baker Mayfield and given him one last shot, or AT LEAST put him on the bench. He would have shown that he was the better QB and that he wanted it more than "Massage Watson"
Hitting a defenseless receiver by rule, is not ONLY hitting the neck or head, it is clocking a receiver senseless when he is in a vulnerable position, without the ball. Yes, replay favors the hitter, but the refs view this at full speed. I've seen worse calls than this! At game speed, it was a close call. Browns outgained the 49's in yards, first downs, rushing yards, and passing yards and made 4 of 5 field-goals. The 49ers missed a 39-yard field goal, and Purdy threw for 12 of 27 and missed wide-open receivers all day, which is why 49ers lost the game.
That isn't true - if you a) don't make contact with the head and neck area and b) don't lead with the crown of your helmet. Gipson did neither and thus should have not been penalized.
@@dexterwestin3747you also can’t launch with one or two feet leaving the ground. That’s a new emphasis on the defenseless receiver rule. Gipson did that.
The problem is they have the ability to see all this and know immediately after that it was the wrong call. I get not having NY create calls, but if a call is objectively wrong, they should be able to overturn it.
Lifelong 49ers fan here. I willingly admit the team played like crap on both sides of the ball today, but those two penalties were BS. Refs moved the Browns 20 yards up the field on those two calls with a fresh set of downs for each penalty. It's completely unacceptable.
PJ Walker should be careful throwing the ball like that if he doesn't see anyone to throw the ball to he should run with the ball and get some good yardage and hope your offensive line gives you some extra yardage
Blame the team. When teams lose in football you can only blame the players or coaches and in this one the kicker missed a mid range field goal for the win so stop blaming the refs
As a niners fan ref as horrible on both sides this game was a shit show Bad Weather Bad Calls Horrible performances And that missed field goal from moody like wtf
Penalties need to be reviewable. There is zero contact to his head or helmet. Damn. Changed the game. And yes I understand that there are other ways that this game could’ve been won. Still, one bad call changed it
I know that the announcers seemed to be rooting for the 49ers. But there IS a penalty on the hit. Read the new Rule change: A launch, which is a personal foul (15-yard penalty), is now if a player leaves one or both feet to make a tackle.
As a Cleveland Browns fan!! Thank you so much Cleveland Browns for pulling off the upset against the 49ers today and I hope that my Cleveland Browns just keep on winning!!
