Join 4Brothers as they 2V2 race to the Ashlands.
The rules to the race go as follows:
We must defeat each boss sequentially
We will not use exploits to beat bosses
We will be in PVE mode
We cannot steal from each other

This video is far from perfect (I am my own worst judge, I know there are a lot of things that can be fixed) but I am hoping that throughout the course of this series I can show improvement in my editing as I get faster and more efficient with my edits. We hope you enjoy, the heart of the video is in the interactions between us as brothers.

Because Sawyer has a different aspect ratio than Kade, I slotted his footage in the top right corner of Kade’s screen for the whole video. In the end I feel like I actually like it more than switching between screens (like what I did for blue team). Let me know what you prefer and what you would like to see more of. The whole aspect ratio problem is fixable so we can do it either way.

Switching for sure. May be worth showing both in key moments, but switching should definitely be the default. This was a cool way to make Valheim competitive!

I agree just so we can see the map of the POV player. Not having it slotted PIP in the corner isn't terrible. Good for a boss fight or certain times

is y'alls discord open to public? big fan of the series. planning to check out more of your channel in the future. I saw you are thinking about not doing the PIP anymore -- if you do keep it for any future episodes could you make the game sound reflect the main focus instead of the PIP sound? I think voice volume is fine, I wouldn't really want it any louder tbh.

Yeah we will most likely be doing a combo of PIP (picture-in-picture) and also switched perspectives to better emphasize the focus of the video moment to moment. The audio got messed up pretty bad on Tyler and Kade’s recordings so that was actually the main reason we did PIP in the first place. I wanted to showcase both screens for both teams but had no chat recording for certain perspectives. Needless to say, we have some work to do to smooth out our recording sessions and make editing easier on ourselves. With regards to the discord, we are talking about getting a community discord going. We are looking into making community guidelines and then posting it for people to join. More info to come on that.

This seems like a fun idea. I know at the beginning the rules were explained there is no pvp, but maybe have a duel after each boss kill? Just to see who's gear+skill is better.

Not a bad idea. We could implement something like this in a future series where we allow each team to drop the gauntlet over resources, biome, etc. Maybe a limited amount of times but that could spice things up a bit.

Thanks! This is just normal difficulty. We considered doing a hardcore run earlier but we thought it might be better if we weren’t TOO stressed about the difficulty.

Nice vid, i'm looking forward to see this journey. But please.... I have been waiting for 4 days for the next episode. And yes i know it takes both hours of gaming and then hours of editing and so on.. But can you atleast let us know like your gaming schedule and when to expect the next episode? I mean, it's not hard to edit and upload a 2h gameplay if you are playing a couple hours everyday. But clearly you are not playing everyday. So let us know please so I don't have to update your channel every hour

Hey man, Tyler here, thanks for this comment! We're super excited that people care on this level. We're recording right now, but we'll find a way to post a schedule here soon. In short, the goal is to post up new videos on Monday morning and Friday morning :D

@@Princitius This is still Tyler XP we've gone back and forth and forth on if the first video of the week will release Monday or Tuesday (or maybe I'm just crazy). It looks like we're settling on Tuesday and Friday releases for the shorter episodes, with the full length episodes releasing on the days leading up. This week we hit an editing snag so the next short episode should release Wed 5/15 in the AM :)

Lol hopefully our inefficiencies can make you feel a sense of accomplishment with how far you’ve come since you were a filthy casual like us 😂 We were all feeling good after day 1. (Slight spoiler) In the interest of time, both teams start cutting corners a little bit and it bites us both HARD. Hopefully Braden cuts that down in post, but if you want to see me get my Viking booty spanked twenty times in a row, we’re about to make you really happy. We have lots to learn!
