Thanks Malc I can't quite get the economics of the crop going to an AD but it must stack up fiancially, or else they wouldn't do it. Thank you.

@@MalcPearce Hi both, it's likely that this, and most other AD plants from the last 10 years have the 'Feed in Tariff' (FiT) subsidy, which pays a fixed rate per kWh for the electricity generated, in set-out bands (e.g. 100-250kW, 250-500kW capacity) whether consumed locally or exported to the grid, in addition to the export 'pence per kWh'. The site operator may also have a Power Purchase Agreement deal. There is also likely to be another subsidy called the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), that CHP plants will receive, if the site qualifies for this. An example is using the excess thermal energy from the AD plant to dry woodchip biomass. Hope this helps, and thank you for the fantastic video.
