Travelling around cities in Japan look MUCH better at Christmas than Chinese cities. You don't see holiday lights except in the foreigner areas and even then it's meh.

Yeah i wouldn't call this Christmas lights. You barely see any. And when you do, they just seem like regular decorations. Only in the first 28 minutes do you see anything remotely like Christmas lights. Besides, few people in Japan are Christian from what i know.
Well, these are called Christmas decorations in Japan. Christmas in Japan is purely commercial holiday in the same way Halloween and Valentine's day are.
