Discover CANADA - Walking Edmonton Empty Streets | Canada travel vlog 4K
Edmonton is the capital city of the Canadian province of Alberta.
In this video we walked on 100 St NW, from 103a St NW to Jasper Avenue, and could see Edmonton City Hall, Sir Winston Churchhill Square, Edmonton Public Library - Stanley A. Milner Library, Rice Howard Way NW, The Westin Edmonton and Fairmont Hotel Macdonald.

I live in Edmonton and have for years. I can say honestly. The lack of people reflects the soul of the City. It doesn't have one!

My city has a soul, a big one. You just too blind to see it. You say you have been here for years?? Well, I have been for 7 decades and still am. After the pandemic everything changed and people worked from home for over 2 years. It takes time for everything to go back to normal, and we're not the only city that suffered through that, but the whole world. If cannot see or understand that, no point of discussing further.

I think Edmonton being hit more than other cities because density very low. The downtown wasn’t meant for entertainment and bring peoples. Edmonton will have to work on that. Making the downtown worth visiting. The city have good bones and good mix of architecture for a young city. But the city needs to become more vibrant.

It's a strange but cool feeling joining you via my smart phone as a still Edmontonion that knows every step you took that I have taken hundreds & hundreds of times. I see the long gone Woodwards entrance & bus shelter etc both now & then. From 1977 right up to today with all the changes & tomorrow's opening of the new LRT Valley South Line, with all these tracks about to dramatically change the whole Downtown PULSE, even if slowly, at first. Hopefully not slowly at all! I'm going to be sure to be a part of this by taking a ride full circle on FREE VALLEY LINE, Saturday the 4th. Our journey continues! Thanks for the inspiration your walk just lit for me. COOL!

I'd say longer than ten years. I think since the 1970's Canada has been in decline. I think selling out all our industry to Asia was the first mistake. The other was open immigration. The country is being swamped with people and the cost to house everyone has skyrocketed. The other is letting foreigners own everything where the Canadian people have to pay rent to them. But drugs have also been plaguing people. Not to mention poor quality food causing obesity.

@@Prairielander You are absolutely right, the biggest reason I think is - because our elected politicians do not work for people who elect them - they work for supper rich and corporations.

Of course the Streets are Empty, the city has Effed up all the Roads with either Bike Lanes, or lane closures so Idiots can eat-drink outside, so fewer people want to go Downtown

Nice video. However, all these Edmonton walking videos from multiple RU-vidrs are always of the dead downtown area. Why doesn't anyone ever go to Old Strathcona and Whyte Avenue?

because the downtown is the symbol and representation of each city. if the downtown is bad, you can tell how bad that city is. this applies to all cities internationally. :) some people may not agree but this is what this is. :)

I live in Edmonton and I've never seen downtown this quiet, unless it's early on the weekend. Usually, downtown is so packed that I try to avoid this area all together. A city with over 1.2 million people has a lot more downtown "life" than this video shows.

I know my home very well, apparently you do not. So, having said that, you're are invited to leave and go back where you came from. Fly out please, do your, and everyone a big favor.
