I, as an American am so proud of the Taiwanese people. You have treated these kids with so much love and respect and cheering and applause. It makes my heart glad! God bless you all! 🇹🇼🇯🇵🇹🇼🇯🇵🇹🇼🇯🇵👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Taiwanese people have always been known for our friendly hospitality, and the performance of this group of kids was so good that it deserves a big round of applause!
I love that they had volunteer students from the local boys' school deliver them breakfast one morning when their hotel wasn't going to serve it early enough for the band. Nice for Tachibana, and I'm sure the boys were pretty happy to do it!
The Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band is just an after-school club and not part of the student educational curriculum. There are no music or dance teachers and only advisors. Everything is taught and passed on from senior class members to junior members including on how to play the instruments. Each year, the seniors also select the songs to play and design all the dance choreography themselves. With their desire for perfection, the students practice an average of thirty-five hours per week including weekends. In their three years of high school, they only get a total of fifteen days off. I really admire and respect their dedications. The nickname “Orange Devils” is given to them by other Japanese bands since everytime there is a competition, they usually wins.
The "After-School Club" in Japanese high schools has cultivated a lot of world-class content, from the Orange Devils to Shohei Otani, they really trains club members as professional players.
Yup, unlike other East Asian countries, we Japanese do not study so hard in high school days. In our society, high schools are regarded as the place where the young should tackle with one difficult thing so sincerely and the time when students should enjoy their school life. Thus the most important thing is what students do after school club activities. The study only for the paper test of entrance exams of Uni is never highly estimated in the society nowadays. Such a cramming education is obviously outdated and even harmful in our country. Kyoto Tachibana HS Band is excellent in this point of view.
I also agree that Tachibana is very very impressive! Once you watch them, you want to see more and more. If there is a couple of suggestions though, I would have had them perform maybe 5 meters further back so everyone at the top can get a clear view, and have a microphone hooked up to the speaker for the clarinet soloist in the third song.
Choreographed dancing, walking and jumping while playing completely from memory and in total control of their instruments, the performance from those young teenagers is EXCEPTIONALLY UNBELIEVABLE!!! I've been watching them playing over and over again and absolutely stunned by those kids. Fantastic job & you are doing so great fellow Tachibana SHS Band performers. Thank you again!
Thanks for the very beautiful video! I was very happy to see the image of "Sing Sing Sing", which is synonymous with the Kyoto Tachibana SHS BAND. As you may know, the formal dress is orange (the colour of the tangerine fruit) with a ponytail and white ribbon (the colour of the tangerine flower). The orange uniform, which gave rise to the nickname 'The Orange Devil', has been in place since 1970. I hope you are in formal attire on October 10. The origin of the current step was the idea of a drummer student in 2005, who introduced a marching choreography based on "Sing Sing Sing" from "Burn the floor". It is said to be the origin of the current step.
Thank you for your explanation, it's really helpful to all those who watch the video! I'm also very glad that 10/10 is a formal performance costume show, everything is really great!
@@twcheerleaders Thanks for the mentions. I watched the march and the performance at the event live. I was also sincerely happy to see the girls in their formal attire. I was very moved by the loud applause of the people of Taiwan and the President. Tachibana High School is located in Kyoto, a neighboring prefecture of mine. I have been a big fan of Tachibana High School SHS BAND since their performance in Rose Parade (2012, 2018). I would be happy if you could get to know them a little better.
