It always held this kind of allure when I was back in midwest at college waiting to finish to move out here.. I wouldn't live anywhere but the beach, close to PCH!!! GREAT Video!! I like all the short side trips..
I DROVE HOME ON PCH, FROM NEWPORT BEACH, THE EVENING THE FIRST MEN LANDED ON THE MOON, AT ABOUT 7 PM (FOUR CUSTOMERS IN OUR RESTAURANT THE WHOLE EARLY EVENING). THE SUNSET, WAS PURPLE!!!!!!! I PLAYED, JIMI'S, PURPLE HAZE, IN MY SURFER VAN, FULL BLAST. I GOT HOME, IN TIME TO SEE, THE FIRST MAN PLANT HIS FOOT ON THE MOON'S SURFACE, ON TV.
@@Vic_Tour I WAS A NEW WAITER, AGE 21, AT THAT TIME, SO WITH FOUR CUSTOMERS, ALL NIGHT, IT TURNED OUT, 2 DINNERS SERVED, ALL NIGHT. I WAS AT THE ORIGINAL CHART HOUSE, A POPULAR STEAK AND SEA FOOD HOUSE, IN THOSE DAYS *(1960s). THE NEWER CHART HOUSE, IS IN A DIFFERENT LOCATION. THE OLD CHART HOUSE, IS NOW A JIFFY LUBE BUSINESS, NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE BALBOA BAY CLUB, ON PCH. IRONICALLY, OUR CHART HOUSE (NAUTICAL CHARTS ON/UNDER THE SURFACE OF EACH TABLE, FIBERGLASSED, SEE THROUGH CHARTS), WAS VERY POPULAR, THE BEST STEAKS IN NEWPORT BEACH. VERY HANDSOME WAITERS, MANY WERE SURFERS. JOEY CABBELL, TOP SURFER *(1960s), WAS OUR OWNER. DUKE KAHANAMOKU *(FATHER OF SURFING) CAME INTO OUR RESTAURANT, A PERSONAL FRIEND OF JOEY'S, FROM HAWAII.
It could be a useless or meaningless video, BUTTT I love it because I had the chance to revisit all those amazing places I spent a lot of time when I was Italian in Cali... it was 2001... Good memories!!! So thanks a lot! BTW I was at Los Alamitos CSULB and I was swimming at Bolsa Chica, Hungtington and Newport....
In South Laguna, Aliso Beach (42min) there is an outdoor walk-up restaurant that is really good! It's run by the resort across the highway, The Ranch in Laguna Beach. They have all Pokè bowls, Fish & Chips, grilled Chicken sandwiches, Hamburgers, etc. Beer, wine, soft drinks. I've been there 5+ times. No, I don't work there..lol
Good video quality. I lived in orange county for several years and recognized much of this from sight. However, if I was not from the area, I would be extremely frustrated with the lack of any meaningful captions explaining what the hell is going on.
This is probably one of thee best car drives I've seen!! I've seen places I've never heard of. It's crazy amazing to see how many live. These beaches,homes,eateries,condos,markets,shops, are so incredibly breathtaking!! Please do more like this! I watched the entire video. Can you do places like... Coto de caza,ladera ranch,laguna nigel,laguna hills,mission Viejo, 😊
