After shoveling 3+ inches of heavy wet snow (5 miles NE of Detroit Metro Airport), I needed a 10 minute break....so I watched your video.....Outstanding! Sounded like the cello section needed some fine tuning.

Nothing beats a good IAE V2500. Well, maybe a Rolls Royce Trent 700 or 800. Or a GE90. Okay, maybe there are a couple that beat the V2500, but it's up there haha.

Wow. That's some serious engine thrust and power there. You would probably like flying the Ranger ships in the movie Interstellar. They had a lot of engine power there. But if you find yourself on Miller's Planet, remember that it's 7 years per hour there so every second counts.
@sla31
@sla31 4 месяца назад
Ah, Interstellar. I love that movie. Of course, I love space based sci-fi type films. The docking scene when they're trying to dock with he rest of the ship after Dr. Mann blows the airlock is a cinematic masterpiece when couple with Hans Zimmer's score. I can still remember watching that in theater and thinking how awesome it was. Great choice!

@@sla31 I saw this movie over in Kingston when it came out in 2014. I remember having a very full bladder when the movie ended. I loved it when the robot said "it's not possible" and Cooper said "no, it's necessary.". Now... if YOU were to go thru that wormhole, THAT would be a YT video worth posting and watching. :) Everything in that movie was scientifically plausible or feasible. They had hard core scientists and physicists as consultants. If you wondered, Cooper was gone 89 years. He was 35 when he left and was 124 when he was at Cooper Station. His daughter was 10 and then, she was 99. Christopher Nolan kept Matt Damon's role under tight wraps before the movie was released because he wanted the audience to be completely surprised and taken aback by his actions. People were familiar with him in Good Will Hunting, The Bourne Identity and in The Martian and then, to see him being this completely unexpected character in Interstellar had a powerful impact indeed. What added to the impact was that anyone would likely have behaved the same way if they had been in his situation. As he put it "don't judge me, Cooper. You've never been tested like I was". And he was right, No one had been. Doing the math, Dr. Mann had been alone on that planet between 30-35 years. I guess that would make anyone go buggo.

The typical EWR TOP Altitude of 2500 SID Engine spool down...than next step altitude by ATC.
@EpicThe112
@EpicThe112 3 месяца назад
Sounds exactly the same as a Philippine Airlines A321-231WL due to the same V2500s however they would be different from an American Airlines A321-211 Delta A321-213s CFM-56. Let me guess you took off from the 22L/22R side which is actually close to the interstate 78 Exit 58 B toll plaza I-95 exit 14 since exit 13A was below you

Why is the engine sound so much changing in the beginning? Viele is awesome. Heinz, 64, Germany.
@sla31
@sla31 4 месяца назад
So obviously at first, the crew has the trust set for takeoff. Then they probably received and initial altitude and probably hit that before they got another higher altitude. So the power was cut as they leveled out. Then they eventually got a higher altitude and power was needed again to maintain the climb. That's what I'd expect is happening here.

Great fly! What's your favorite and worse US airports?
@sla31
@sla31 4 месяца назад
Well, I always have to qualify this answer because much like trying to compare all the airlines that are very different, airports in the US are very different based on if they're a hub or not. And then you have larger cities that have big airports, but they aren't hubs. All the way down to small airports. So, I can't just say X airport is my favorite as there are too many factors that separates airports. I generally try to list my few favorites from each category. Hubs, large airports that aren't hubs, small airports, and then I also like to list my favorite airports to fly into even if they aren't really the nicest or most convenient airports. Hubs, I love DEN & DFW. They are, IMO, the easiest airports to navigate quickly and because of the sheer size, you often don't have the delays associated with more area restricted airports. Least favorite hubs would be CLT & ORD. Large airports that aren't hubs, I love the new MCI. Yes, it's one of my home airports, but it is an amazing new terminal and with Southwest having a large presence there, it has a lot of nonstop flight options. Also, with three runways and a lot of land, you're not looking at any type of space related delays. Small airports, I love XNA, LGB, and PAE. I really love XNA, again being one of my home airports. Because Walmart is based in Bentonville, Arkansas, it means XNA is one of the most well connected small airports in the country, with daily nonstop flights to pretty much every major market in the US. LGB and PAE are awesome airports and they allow you to get away from LAX and SEA which are not great hub airports. And then I also love JAC, SIT, BZN, EGE, and other small airports around the country for their incredible geography when you fly in and out.

Hey Skylite... I'm half English, ( *hears V2500 engine symphony, and stops typing... ) ... 5 minutes later ... I'm so sorry Skylite, I don't know what happened there! Where was I... I'm half English, half Mauritian and have been fortunate to travel there several times, either with Emirates ( A380 ) or Air Mauritius ( which would probably be the A350 or A330 neo now )... Although my very first time was in 1992 aboard their original "stubby Queen" the 747 SP ! Would Mauritius be somewhere you might consider in the future? The full flight on Air Mauritius is around 12 hours if I remember correctly... Emirates break things up with a quick " halfway pit stop" in Dubai. Kind regards and thank you again for all your effort! - Resh

I mean, I am always interested in going anywhere I haven't ever featured before. Or featuring airlines I've never featured before. The problem always comes down to $$$. I do this full time now, which is amazing, but it's not like I pull in untold amounts of money haha. I still have to carefully budget everything, or I'd easily run myself and the channel into untold amounts of credit card debt haha. So, I generally end up with like one or two big international trips every year, and of course, I can only fit so much into every trip. So, I'd love to do that someday. Hopefully I get to. Time will tell! If you somehow know the secret to unlimited money, let me know, then I'll be able to that and more haha.
