We are visiting the Celtic settlement Castro de Borneiro, which is in Cabana de Bergantiños (municipality in the province of Coruña).It was inhabited from the 6th century BC to the 1st century AD, it is estimated that the population was about 400 people, we go back to the Iron Age.
The castro is surrounded by a stone defensive wall that gave protection to its inhabitants.
The composition of this fort allows us to study the type of life that its inhabitants led in it.
It is made up of 43 constructions between houses and outbuildings with other uses such as pantries, artisan workshops and even a sauna that is at the entrance of the town and that you can see at the end of the video, it is supposed to be used as a meeting place and that surely It had ritual and esoteric purposes.
As an anecdote, comment that this fort was discovered by the Spanish geologist and chemist Isidro Parga Pondal in 1924.

En esta nueva entrega visitamos el Castro de Borneiro, que está en Cabana de Bergantiños (municipio de la provincia de Coruña).
Fué habitado desde el siglo VI BC hasta el siglo I AD, se calcula que la población era de unas 400 personas, nos remontamos a la Edad de Hierro.
El castro está rodeado de una muralla defensiva de piedra que daba protección a sus moradores.
La composición de este castro permite estudiar el tipo de vida que llevaban en el sus habitantes, está formado por 43 construcciones entre viviendas y dependencias con otros usos tales como despensas, talleres artesanos e incluso una sauna que está en la entrada del poblado y que podeis ver al final del video, se supone que era utilizada como lugar de reunión y que seguramente tenía fines rituales y esotéricos.
Como anécdota comentar que este castro fué descubierto por el geólogo y químico español Isidro Parga Pondal en el año 1924.
