I am surprised they allowed you to record the entire ride. It is an impressive effort to build a star wars experience. I never Imagined that the ride was so large.
@@acemt01 It's the most technologically advanced and smartly designed ride Disney has built to date. You can tell from the fifty-ish animatronic stormtroopers and two life-sized AT-ATs that they spared no expense when building this. They were even able to brag about how many lines of computer code are used to control the vehicles. But I guess since it has at least one screen somewhere, that fact alone must make it a failure, for some reason.
I swear, when it rains, even thought this is an indoor ride, no one goes to it! I went from having never ridden it because every time that I went, the lines were huge, to riding it FOUR TIMES in one day, because it was raining.
We recently went to Disneyland on a weekday when it rained and the line for Resistance moved better than the line for Jungle Cruise.🤗 No line was more than 25 minutes. The outdoor coaster rides did their best to stay open until around 5pm as the rain eventually caused safety concerns.
@@timothyS_taproductionsI waited 2 hours but it was because the game was broken, if it would have Been okay I would have waited 30 minutes, the line was large, but faster
the first part reminds me of the old disneyland joke about them having a "line ride" where you just wait in line for a half an hour and when you get through the line, you go through the exit and that's the whole ride. Once you actually get to this ride there is a lot going on.
*It depends on the time of the year you're recording this. I used to pull my 3 kids out of school for two weeks every year, while we would travel to all the amusement parks during the off-season so there wouldn't be any long lines. Celebrities do the same thing. This is why you run into a lot of Celebrities if you go in the off-season.* *We would go to Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studio, Magic Mountian, Knott Berry Farm, the ZOO, Alligator Farm, etc... And my kids could go on the best rides multiple times because there would be no lines.* *For those of you who don't know, the off-season is when everyone else is in school.*
Before I moved up OR/WA way WWWAAAYYY back in 2005… -I had a Premium Annual Passport from 1995-97 (I was in the USMC back then (1987-2002)); -From 1997-2002, for a little extra $$$, I was a Security CM @ the DLR (a Marine buddy got me on there; also, I was transitioning back into civilian life, working for the Dept. of Defense (1997-2007); -From 2002-2007, after resigning from the DLR, after getting a major promotion w/ the D of D, I became an Annual Passholder again. By 2007, I had resigned from the D of D, taking a job w/ the ILWU/Longshoremen (circa 2003; a promotion required moving outta state…☹️) up OR/WA way, so these changes didn’t leave me much time for DLR anymore. Anyway… I can remember going to Disneyland and DCA on my days off, w/ family, friends, and even my old Semper Fi buddies…😊!!! I remember days like THIS, when it was “dead” or folks just didn’t wanna deal w/ the rain 🌧️…😄. Good times INDEED…❤️🤍🩶🖤
Thanks for sharing, I used to go with my USMC adopted Brothers, we all scattered after 2020, and even though I had a pass last year I only went twice, nobody to go with. I sure do miss those days, I never thought they would ever end, but I have lots of awesome memories.
Yes, we see it all around as these days, the resistance is falling, they're riding into the ideological black hole of history. Evil is always defeated by Good..! I remember like most of us what has happened, and we will never forget, the resistance is strong in the hearts of the good.
Thanks for posting this very cool video. Given that it took you about 7 mins to walk to the ride start and then about another 5-6 minutes to board the clever little pods, or whatever they are called, I would hate to stand in line from the back, it must take half a day!
Went on it Feb 9th. 90 minutes in line, not bad for a Friday. Spectacular sets and effects, but it seemed like they rushed everyone through it, not even allowing 30 seconds to pause for photos. Not worth the price of admission, but if you're already there, yeah, it's pretty good.
Massive for sure but after all the walking and riding around a bit in the vehicles the best part of the ride lasts a mere 15s, and for that, I'm, out, lol...
I went to Hollywood studios and the wait time was posted at 85 minutes I think my parents and I waited probably only 35 minutes from the point of getting in line to sitting down on the ride
Tour videos will have new life jn Apple Vision. Do you ever record in stereoscopic? Apparently, it is built into the Headset recorder and also iPhone 15
No, stereoscopic video technology isn’t good enough yet. You have to sacrifice sharpness and light just to get a subpar Stereoscopic image. I don’t feel comfortable using it for the channel as of right now
@@LMGVids would be an expensive experiment for a potential fail, but if it worked, man it would feel so immersive in Apple Vision. Disney announced a partnership with Epic Games to develop immersive VR experiences based on rides irl recently. An apple vision ride-along would be a preview albeit passive rather than interactive. Love your work!
I actually thought about it a while back, it’s 100% possible with the r5c and vr 180 lens, it’s just the image quality out of it looks pretty subpar, especially if you are viewing it on RU-vid. However, the thought of producing content that could be viewed on the Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3 would be pretty cool, if only camera and stream tech could just catch up lol Thank you, I’m glad you enjoy our videos 😁
I've been on it twice in Disney West (almost exactly 1 year ago, in fact), and both times, that line queue was pretty much full out to the entrance (I think about 90 min wait the first time and 75 the second). I was there 3 days and I don't think I ever saw it go below 75 except when it was down for about an hour. So I would have happily made the long walk with no wait like this!
So let me get this straight… These are all the corridors and twists waiting for a ride? Can you imagine how long you would have to wait if it was crowded? Sorry count me out
At 9:50, you walk outside and enter into the transporter. Almost 10 minutes just to get to this point. Transporter has no seats? I'm sure I didn't wait in line for this ride when we went in October. Then, you enter into the hanger in outer space. And you're allowed to breathe no air. What's with that? And if you were prisoners, the cast members should be treating you like a prisoner and escorting you to the next station which they didn't. I give this ride a C grade up to this point and after that, a B-. It's not worth the wait in line for this ride. The rest of the ride was exciting and fun , which I thought the whole ride was going to be like. I would like to see the person who shot this video, go on a busy day, and wait and wait until you get to point A.
This really is a very sad looking state of affairs. The cast members were really not doing this any justice. This shows me this ride or park is in trouble. And the ride is so dull. As others here have said. Think of what they could have done with this ride/walk. Sad but true this looked like it’s on its last legs. I would be surprised if this so called ride was around still in a year or so from now. Sorry to say it
The amount of obses people in this post is coursing a disturbance in the force that I haven't felt since I was in the presence of my old master!!!.❤️🙏🇺🇸
The potential for these ride vehicles transversing a flat floor is great, and would be better in narrow tunnels. I hate Star Wars and that whole play and scenery were very uninteresting. But imagine what else they could do with similar vehicles and propulsion They could keep the motion sim pod with a new sim also.
The disney Personel is not into the ride it seems. They do not take the persona of the empire etc. Also.. Basic training and space rations would be good for the soldiers.....
This looks like a repurposed Star Tours ride why back when it was...the outside looks like they did not do anything to it and the interior just some new props and nothing more
The ride is just like the movies. So much potential. So much money spent on something that could have been so epic. But it comes across as flat and lifeless. A cheap imitation of Star Wars with no heart.
This sort of thing would have been heaven for Star Wars fans decades ago, however, generations after mine that didn't grow up with the franchise like me... have changed 😢 and many people have forgotten what it means to really dream and imagine, I'm afraid. It seems these days, with all that's going on in the world, everything has become too political. I remember seeing the original Trilogy in theaters and the prequels years later. Something's missing in our youth and people in general, for I sense a void and our children seem to be losing their childhoods to social media and the inability to enjoy simple things anymore. The empty ride was symbolic to me and struck a nerve. Thank you, from an original fan.
Disney purposely shot themselves in the foot with this area. No one cared about the Sequel trilogy and they insisted on theming this entire area around it. This should have been a mixture of Tatooine with Mos Eisley and Jabba's cantina's, some Hoth, and Mustafar for the Empire. When it comes to corporate sabotage Disney takes the cake. lol
The best rides should be made from the best memorable movies. Jurassic park ride was always a hit because the movies are awesome. I’m not talking about the new ones only the first three. The mummy is another great one. So movies that are great make great themepark attractions. Avatar another one. But Star Wars idk was like Meh. The movie and kind of the ride.
@@mason6300 the point I made was that the rides at Disney would be great if they based them off the best movies ever made. I used Jurassic park as an example even tho I know it’s not Disney or Disney owned.
@jdos5643 You don't need movies to create stunning dark rides. Some of the best you will find are in the Efteling. Way better than this expensive piece of crap. Just search and enjoy some of the masterpieces. And, it's way more affordable. 😂 No movie's involved,
Dear LMG vids , I sit here in rainy London 🇬🇧 watching this Vlog and I’m stuck between two thoughts , one is “ Thank You “ for posting as I’ll never now get too do this ride , but due too you I have had the experience of what it would be like , ref I had a serious injury in Las Vegas on holiday and I’ll never be fit enough too visit again , and thought “ Two “ it makes me a little sad as I loved visiting Disney Land on holidays with my kids and I’ll never get too have that experience again 😮, I think I’ll stick with the positive, Thought “ 1 “ , and I will live the good times Vicariously through your vids , loved the “Indiana Jones “ one you did too , you bring so many people in my position so much pleasure, Thank you 🙏 God Bless You !
Its got me scratching my head, I see all these videos of the rides being empty, but when we go to Florida, there always a 3 hour wait time. Thanks much for this awesome video
No ride is packed 24/7 all year round. A mid week rainy day during the off season will have a fraction of people compared to prime time, nice day, peak season. People looking to film an empty ride just do better planning for when to go, and may also wait for longer to have best opportunity for filming. They have to plan around when is least packed, while you're just going when it's convenient for you, which overlaps with a lot of other people's choice time as well.
I still can't believe they had Luke, Leia and Han together for a movie and couldn't set aside agendas to give the fans one last epic SW story. It was gross and selfish of Disney.
I don't mean to be negative, but the casting seems questionable. Given the storyline, the actors playing soldiers and agents on both sides mostly should be tall, physically imposing men. Instead they are mostly female, and in numerous cases (both male and female) they are short, unfit, and not in the least bit intimidating or impressive. They look like random people who responded to a casting call, not actual agents of rival military forces.
On the Resistance side that would make sense. Look at the resistance forces in any war, it's a collection of people who don't like having their way of lives or their families messed with. They could be anyone at all. The professional military side .. not so much.
Just at Disneyworld - the only way you get on the ride is to pay $25. That’s after you pay $18 for Genie. Disney is fleecing people every way they can. Couldn’t go if we wanted to - it wasn’t working, lol.
I've ridden this 3 times. First time in LA and it broke down. So, there was a full evacuation. Very cool to go behind the scenes. We were told to not take any pictures. Then, it came back online and we were allowed to cut the line. So, that's twice. Then, I was at Disneyworld, staying at Galactic Starcruiser (RIP) and was able to cut the whole line. You get special access because the cast members saw the Starcruiser pins. (That's a whole. different story...)
@@SuperStoner86 1: Starcruiser doesn't exist anymore, so that way to cut the line is gone. 2: The number of people entering this way was tiny - maybe 100 people in the course of a full day. So, doesn't really impact how long people wait. 3: You really have an issue with Private Guides and Lightning Lane - or whatever it's called now.
