Full Moon was definitely a harder round than Gashina. They all sang for such a short time and Full Moon is a lot softer a song. For Gashina, the way Sunmi pronounces everything is very distinct and to me it was immediately noticeable while Full Moon I was unsure. All the women were really great singers though
well in full moon and 24 hours sunmi used the jyp half air half sound technique as she was still under jyp at that time but now she has a more distinct style and she strays away from the half air half sound technique
@@tsuyuasui7297 the jyp one ? its a technique that jyp himself uses and also sorta ish teaches his trainees to do, it is a very limiting technique in itself although some people like nayeon work just fine but most other vocalists in jyp that use it are kinda held back because of it
im sure you did repeat it before you get it. those in the audience area only have one time to listen to it then they have to decide which makes it harder.
I was so shocked that the panelists didn't immediately hear her voice in the first round; once I heard her as #2 I immediately felt it. Her singing style is so distinctive with her breathiness and airiness; it's so refreshing to hear. For the second round, it was a lot easier to tell it was her. But these impressionists were also insanely talented.
I'm not a fan oh her and I've only heard Gashina several times before and none of her other songs, but for some reason even I thought it was #2 as soon as I heard it🤣 I think the other ones just don't sound as natural, because they're impersonating and can't sing freely, so somehow it sounded more forced.
Idk to me none of them sounded similar enough to Sunmi to get confused. She has a very unique voice. But maybe they hear something different than us. Or maybe it's because I've heard her live and can recognise her tone better now.
First round was a bit confusing, but I still guessed correctly despite not really having listened much to her before. Second round was way easier, I got it right the moment she started singing. There was no doubt in my mind during that round.
She almost became the first artist in Hidden Singer Season 7 (if not THE first in the history of the show) to be eliminated in the first round. The dispair among the special guests and the rest of the 100 were so evident when they can't distinguish her during Full Moon. That would've triggered headlines across Hallyu web portals. 😁
@@waterfall101 That's fake news. Even Girls Generation members knew where Taeyeon is, which made her survive in every round (not sure about the last round).
@@DJPaoloDelaCruz Sorry for the late answer, but Taeyeon was eliminated in the 2nd round. She had to go up till round 5 because the show has a rule that if the Original Singer is eliminated, the audience should vote for the real Taeyeon every round.
Not even her dancers knew which one was Sunmi. That was unexpectedly funny. The impressionists are just so good at imitating sunmi while singing beautifully

Same I’m not her fan I just know her and her popular songs cause I’m a K-pop fan but I still got it right both rounds. First round I was confused between 2&4 but I replayed it and guessed 2 but for the second one it was immediately clear to me XD
i personally feel that sunmi voice is one of the easiest to recognise among all the hidden singer episodes i watched tho. her husky voice & how she handle her notes are just one of a kind.
I played along and got it right both rounds 😂 Sunmi is my favourite female solo artist so I'm not surprised. But all of the impressionists were amazing and had lovely vocals.
I've listened to Sunmi's songs on repeat for a very long time, enough to be able to figure out which booth had her in it. During the initial listen, I was torn between booths 2-4, but after the second round of singing I knew with absolute certainty that she was in booth 2 -- and I was right! Yup, even in round 2 I got it right and knew almost instantly that she was in booth 4. It could be because Gashina is one of the songs I've listened to a lot and watched and listened to the live stages of and know how it goes but also the fact that she mentioned her voice technique for the song differed -- when you sing with your full voice, it's done differently from person to person. I don't know what it is, but Sunmi's is both soft and strong, not exactly airy but at least compared to the other four singers, definitely and for sure softer than them.

as someone who only listens to sunmi very casually, i was completely lost in round one, but in round two her voice sounded very distinct compared to the others. all the contestants were amazing tho!
Round 1 was a toss-up btwn 2&4, but round 2 was definitely 4. Not sure if the subsequent terms are correct, but Sunmi’s voice is rich(?), and her low notes sound very full(?), which to me are the charming points of her voice and why it might have sounded more distinct to me, coupled with her quite distinct articulation and breathing. And one thing for sure, her voice doesn’t stretch thin(?) at higher notes, which makes her very obvious in round 2.
I like Sunmi and her songs but I am not a hardcore stan… I still got them all right! I was like “how can her own dancer not tell???” 😅😅😅 Her voice is so distinct
First listen I KNEW it was No.2 Becasue Sunmi has this metallic quality in her voice that the others don't posess and it's rare in Kpop for her voice type to be that metallic. No.5 did confuse me a little bit but I was so sure it was No.2, also IDK how they thought it was 6... Her placement switched as she went up and Sunmi doesn't do that.
I knew it was No. 2 after a few years of listening to Sunmi, her voice is recorded in your head and you know how to recognize her and her personal touches she has when singing 👌✨💜
I wonder how the audio sounded live in the studio during Full Moon. Seokhwa with usually sharp ears looks genuinely confused and the audience even forgot to clap. Cha Hyunseung, her backup dancer for years looked bewildered.

Huge praise to the impersonators! Sunmi was distinct for us (seeing the final product), but those women need idol jobs lmao. I'm sure they'd nail any song they sing with their real voices.
I actually listened to 3 sec of certain number 2 without hearing others and i knew it just was sunmi , her voice is so rare that its hard to get someone who is like her

I knew it from the start what # was Sunmi. Sunmi's voice is such a distinctive, powerful, soulful voice that is hard not to recognize, especially if you listen to her live performances often (which I do).
Round 1: 3 and 4 were definitely not hers and I could clearly hear her @2:00 at the very last note. 1 didn't really sound like her so I narrowed it down to 2. Sunmi to me is more recognizable than other singers because her sound is a little more unique. THEY DID TWO OF MY FAV SONGS OF HERS! FULL MOON AND GASHINA! 💖💖
Sunmi voice is so unique!!! It was hard to recognize the first round on a first try. I guess that if the audience had headphones it would be more easy for them to recognize her voice

I got both rounds right! I knew it from the moment I heard it- I've been a fan of hers for so long that I've memorized the tone of her voice and her singing techniques.
I think it was easy for us to recognize the voice, 1 because we love her and 2 because we hear the sound that the microphone picks up and in person you hear the sound of the speakers 🔊
I just wanna know how someone couldn't tell which one was Sunmi, like???? She has a very specific quality to her voice that can't be imitated. It's very obvious which one is her straight away.
I don't know what is this show or what happens in here nor i'm a fan of Sunmi(but i obv know her and like her songs) but i stumbled upon this video and i find it so exciting to guess who is the original artist. I didn't know much in first round but i guessed Sunmi right in the second round coz as the replies already said, Gashina is really exclusive to her. When i heard the 4th one, i immediately went "this is how she sang it! It's her!" So yeah lol, i will definitely start to follow this show more.
In the beginning it was hard to tell ( I guessed 2or 6)but when I listened to the second round I knew that Sunmi was in the 2 one. I just knew it. Her voice has something recognizable and special. I had surprisingly fun in guessing.
