This is flight 7 of 13 from my recent journey around the world. In September/October, I set out to circumnavigating the Earth, and after 9 days, 8 airlines, 13 flights, and over 24,000 miles, I eventually landed back in Kansas City after visiting San Francisco, Los Angeles, Honolulu, Tokyo, Osaka, Bangkok, Doha, London, Dublin, Munich and Newark. Over the next 4 weeks I'll be posting these flights in order, so you too can take this incredible journey with me! If the video doesn't have this bit at the top of the description, and in the pinned comment, it is not part of the around the world flights. Absolutely spectacular clouds on this one! The takeoff is also absolutely spectacular the way the plane turns around and we see the airport. Looooong taxi...
Essa Cia THAI Quase Fecha As portas Por Conta da Pamdemia, Algumas Aeronaves Inclusive o A350 Teve Alguns problemas Mais Nada de Grave. Que Bom que a THAI Está Na Ativa Novamente. Belo Trabalho Parabéns e que Deus Abençoe a Todos da Tailândia 🇹🇭.
I have a long very private history with Thai. I witnessed the monk ceremony on a new delivered 777-200 ER at Suvarnabhumi Airport. They do that with every new aircraft. I flew with the very first A 380 ( HS - TUA ) from Frankfurt to Bangkok. Several times with the 747-400 ( old livery ) and their A 300's within Thailand.
Some of those flight would've been super cool to take! I also really liked Thai's old livery. So, I wish I'd gotten a chance to fly on it at least once. Oh well!
What a beautiful way of seeing the world. I love following your channel, and going on these journeys with you. Really appreciate all the effort you put into your videos.
Amazing video, great filing and editing quality. The boarding transition was really smooth! And the main meal on this flight looked a lot better than the ones they serve on their Bangkok- Europe routes. I was quite surprised to hear a Thai Airways FA speak english in an American accent so fluently! In 16 years of flying with Thai I've never heard/seen that before! Also, where did the obnoxiously loud landing music go?!
Glad you enjoyed it my friend. A lot of work goes into every video I upload, and this one was.... Let's say... A real pain to edit. Thanks to that music you referred to. So, I had no idea that Thai Airways thought it was somehow fun to play the same three songs on repeat over the PA system for the entire last hour of the flight... Obviously, I can't play that on RU-vid, as it's copyright protected audio and I'd have my video demonetized. So, I painstakingly replaced the entire last hour of audio of this flight with the audio from another A350-900 flight I took on Delta, where I was in the same seat. The only parts of the audio in the last hour that are original are when the announcements were made.
That new terminal that you can see @ 6:10:00 was finished in 2020 right before Corona hit air traffic. They had to build it because in the old terminal ( opened in 2004 and it is still the biggest single terminal building worldwide ) there was no space anymore due to rapid growing passenger numbers. Now the amount is at 70% before Corona and they dont need that new terminal. In 2019 25 Chinese carriers flew daily to Bkk. 25 !!!
Good information to have. BKK certainly had this weird vibe I've never felt at any other airport. Giant and busy terminal, but a virtually unused one sitting across the ramp, and all those Thai aircraft in storage. It was like a weird mix of booming aviation but at the same time the sense that was similar to what it was all like at the height of Covid will all the unused planes and gates.
Nice! Chose the good side! I’ve only got half an hour in and already got to see Tokyo, a plane take off from the same runway you departed 34:30 and another plane landing under you 34:40 to 35:00 (if you zoom in on 4K beneath the wing), and then Fuji too!
4:55 sounded like that flight attendant greeted you in Thai; it’s hard for me to tell if that was actually Thai or was it full on English cause I also heard a welcome immediately after I had never been on a Thai-based airline, but only time I can recall a flight attendant on an East Asian airliner greeted me in her native language was on Xiamen airlines lol back in March cause I don’t look East Asian.
You are an absolute beast! These videos are unbelievably cool and they continue to supplement my realism for MSFS (I play the video as my plane boards/taxis/takes off for even more added sound realism). Absolutely awesome, thank you for all your hard work!
Only in Asia do you get airlines that give you free meal services for flights shorter than 6 and a half hours. Outside of Asia, Hawaiian airlines is the only airline that does this.
I feel , that Airbus is just building more advanced and elegant planes, arent they? I mean, just how slick that wing looks, compared to ... whatever plane there is.
Well, it’s certainly possible. So, the entire last hour of this video is actually audio from a Delta A350 flight. Same seat on both flights, just different carriers. Thai Airways plays copyright protected music during the entire landing portion of the flight. So, I replaced the audio from another A350 flight. And I spliced all the announcements from the original flight over the Delta flight. Then I matched up all of the flaps and landing gear sounds. So I thought I caught all of the Delta announcements and cut them out. It’s certainly possible I missed one though 😂.
Great fly! Not related to this but have you heard Rainbow Bridge between the US (New York) and Canada border was bombed which killed 2 people and injured 1 patrol officer?
I hadn’t heard the that. But looking it up, it doesn’t look like they know exactly what happened yet, so I’m not sure bombed is the best word to use. Is that a possibility, sure. But there are other reasons why a car full of gasoline might explode after a crash.
Whoa... I think I saw Phil Koeghan at the BKK airport ready to hand you your next clue for your Amazing Race. I did NRT to BKK back in 1995 and got there at about 9 PM, took about 6 hours. Nice to see all of this in the daytime. I hiked up to the top of Wat Arun. Wow... that was a WORKOUT! When I got back down, my legs literally felt like jelly. My favorite park in Bangkok is Lumpini. I stayed at a budget hotel right next to the Ambassador which made it easy because I would just tell the taxi or tuk tuk driver to please take me to the Ambassador Hotel because everyone knew where it was. Glad you flew on Thai Airways. They have passenger service down to a fine art and science. And I was impressed with the many amenities they had at BKK airport. Yep, Asian Pacific countries really have a fine understanding of providing top quality customer service. If you're a business traveler heading for Singapore, they roll out the red carpet for you, treat you like royalty.
Sounds like you had some good times back then! And yes, I really enjoyed Thai except for one thing. The whole landing they played loud music through the PA system. So the entire last hour of audio i this video is from a delta A350 flight cause RU-vid wouldn’t let me post it otherwise 😂.
@@sla31 I did not experience that while on Thai Airways. That may have been their way of welcoming you to Thailand. I did that whole trip on a very limited budget, which made things more challenging and then, when I was in Singapore, I discovered that my ATM card had been completely demagnetized and rendered useless. I went to the Citibank in Singapore, showed them my card and negotiated with them for me to withdraw the rest of my money from my account at First Interstate Bank, which they did. That was a near travel disaster! I also lost a full month of pay because the place I worked at had no vacation pay at all. Furthermore, because I had no idea if the company would shut down and go bankrupt or not, so I didn't know if I would have a job when I get back. But... I gave all of this not a single moment's thought during my visit to Thailand and Singapore. I committed myself to enjoy my vacation and worry about the unpleasant details at home when I get back. I went thru something similar in fall 2001 when 3 days before my 3 week trip to Australia, my company laid me off - for good They were in deep financial straits. Since my trip was already all bought and paid for, I decided to go ahead with it, not think about my (un)employment situation until I got back home. I told no one about any of this during my trip because there was no reason for anyone in Australia to know. This was also right after 9/11 so I encountered very few Americans during my trip. The US news media bombarded us with all of the terrorist attack warnings by the Al Qaeda, but I vacationed anyway. Even in Australia, we would see CNN which had all of the warnings and the endless warnings coming from Bush W as well. A month before my trip to New Zealand in 1996, I got a JURY SUMMONS telling me to report to court during the EXACT DATES I had my trip planned! As it was, I told them the truth, asked if I could postpone it 2 months, and they excused me and they never called me again until years later and as it was, I wasn't able to go because I couldn't afford to do 3 MONTHS of jury duty, so I got excused AGAIN.
Don't get me started on the A350 vs. 787. Okay, well you asked 🤣... Basically, I think the A350 is an amazing aircraft and I LOVE flying on them. And on the other hand, the 787 is my least favorite aircraft type to fly on, and I actively avoid them at all costs. Now, admittedly, the reason why I don't like 787's is a problem that is pretty specific to me, and most people probably wouldn't care. But... I film flights for a living now. And I pay for those flights with my own money that I make off the videos. I can't afford to take big flights on big planes and not be able to film them, and because the 787 has electronic dimmable windows that the crew can control, I've had several 787 flights wasted, because the crews auto dimmed all the windows and then locked them so they couldn't be opened again. And even when they aren't locked out by the crew, because they electronically dim and don't just have a shade, the window never gets 100% clear, so it's like filming though a filter the whole flight. For what I do for this channel, 787's are a nightmare.
@@sla31 Aloha SP, did not know about 787 windows not being 100$ clear. Was looking forward to flying on Hawaiian Airlines new 787''s next year. Kind of a bummer for taking video. The A350 is a nice plane. Liked the internal cabin and airport terminal views. Great video as always. It still amazes me how you can stay focused and hold the camera that long. Happy Travels!
@@justtravelingandgaming the 100% not clear isn’t the end of the world. It just makes it a little more time intensive to edit because the footage often has a bluish hue to it. The bigger issue is when the crews just outright lock the windows. Which…. With the way Hawaiian Airlines is about wanting widows closed… let’s up they don’t just lock them all….
@@sla31 Well that's certainly unfortunate and understandable. I guess my question tho relates more to flight characteristics, smoothness, wing design and turbulence, air quality for jet lag etc...
Hopefully they get their category 1 status back in the future and can resume flights to the US. Mexico recently went through this and they got their rating back.
