The Beitou Sulfur Valley is located at the southern foothills of Mt. Datun, upstream of the Huanggang Creek, and is one of the sources of the Beitou Hot Springs, constituting a large volcanic sulfur hot spring area.
The Sulfur Valley features volcanic geothermal landscapes, sulfur gas vents, and geothermally heated artificial hot springs. With its unique-colored rock walls and romantic sulfur flowers, the valley has terraced lakes that create a dreamlike scene when illuminated by the sun.
The park offers a circular mountain trail and free foot baths where you can soak your feet. The sulfur hot springs in Beitou are acidic sulfur-sulfate springs, enriched with sulfur compounds and other minerals due to underground heat. The water appears yellowish-white with a distinct sulfur scent, commonly known as "white sulfur." It's a unique and fascinating stop in Yangmingshan, well worth a visit during your journey through the area.
