The Zhishan Rock Park in Taipei is located near the intersection of Section 1, Zhicheng Road and Yusheng Street in the Shilin District, close to the banks of the Shuangxi River. It is a large natural park filled with green ecology and cultural landmarks.
The park covers prehistoric cultures such as the Dabaotai Culture, Zhishan Rock Culture, Yuanshan Culture, Botanical Garden Culture, as well as historical cultures from the Qing Dynasty, Japanese colonial period, and the era of the Nationalist government, boasting rich cultural heritage.
Within the park stands a century-old Buddhist temple, the "Huìjì Temple," which has a history of 260 years and is classified as a third-level historical site, dedicated to Kai Zhang Sheng Wang.
Due to long-term protection of its historical sites, the park still retains many old trees, such as the three-hundred-year-old camphor tree next to the Yǔ Nóng Reading Room, considered a precious treasure of the park. Additionally, the park's terrain and landforms have formed numerous natural landscapes through long-term weathering, such as Elephant Rock, Hollowed-out Rock, Onion Rock, Stone Turtle, and Snake Frog Rock, all of which serve as rich geological materials.
