Great to relive our trip to Waikiki! It was my first time in Hawaii and returned from our elopement last week! Your first 20 seconds were where we stayed. Your video makes me want to go back ASAP. I enjoyed it! I also filmed our trip as well : )
I think they have done an amazing job cleaning up the strip the paths look great the shops are clean compared back to the early 90,s the place was a dump dirty needed painting footpaths uneven ,, Hats of to the workers 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 looking amazing in 2023
Beautiful video looks so much different than when I was there way back in the 80’s! Amazing clean up and posh feel…looking forward to viewing your beach video and very very very soon returning for some way overdue surfing! MAHALO 🤗♥️🌺
Thanks for the walk on Kalakaua Avenue...I'm so far away in Berlin and dreaming of Hawaii while I am watching "Hawaii 5-0". But I would also like to see the Californian 101 again. I am sooo terribly old now (unfortunately), remembering the States from 1978 / 79. Bet it has changed a lot. When I was there the restrooms and toilets werde separated in three colors. White/Black/Others. In Louisiana the didn't serve me in a truckstop because I was white ...:-))) I was not used to that coming from Germany. How much I loved Arizona and New Mexico!!!!! South Carolina wasn't bad either. Oh boy, how I wish I could be young again with my knowledge and experiences from now. OMG! Riverside consisted of 3 houses and 2 trees and no river as I had expected almost dying in a tent from a very bad sunstroke, bladders all over and fever, throwing up (sorry). Santa Barbara was so small and beautiful and (elitär= german word). Malibu the same. And I loved San Francisco besides the weather. "...sitting on the dock of the bay...wasting time..." No joke: When I saw the S.F. city limit sign coming hitchhiking from L.A., in the car the radio played "If you ever come to San Francisco" from Scott McKenzie. That was so magic. But I am sitting in ol' Berlin dreaming of the old better(?) times. Wherever you are: Thanks and Hello from Berlin !!!!!
Hello Waikiki! I'll be in that Marketplace soon. I don't call that a beautiful day, hopefully it will get better when I'm there. Thanks for the great tour!
@@nomadicmonkey if possible can you do videos on some of the popular tourist spots in Oahu? We plan to go there this summer but not sure where to go besides Waikiki beach.
@@TranNguyen-bg3ti I left the island already, but there are plenty of things and activities you can do on Oahu. Here are some: Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden, Dole Plantation, Diamond Head, Iolani Palace, Byodo-In Temple, Pearl Harbor, Laniakea Beach for green sea turtles, Kualoa Ranch and many more things to do. Usually the problem is not enough time.
I haven't been to Hawaii, but it's interesting to see it like this in a video, so I'll subscribe and enjoy it. I must travel to Hawaii. It's a wonderful city and a nice place with a peaceful feeling
Haven't been there in 10 years, so we thought we would go back and we did in April. BOY WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!! SOOOOO Many rude people, beaches are crowded and the weather wasn't the best. If you want a better vacation go to Kauai or the big Island!!!!! and take lots and lots of MONEY!!!!!
LOVE ENJOY HONOLULU HAWAII AND WAIKIKI BEACHES YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFUL LIFE WORLD UNIVERSE TOGETHER DARLINGS PLUS THE SHOPS AND FOODS AND DESERTS DARLINGS
Waikiki sure has gotten hoity toity for my wallet. It is beautiful, classy and all that, but where do the locals shop nowadays? The area seems like millionaire's row. I lived there 12 years back in the 80's and 90's and hardly recognize the place now. I will always love Hawaii and miss it, there is a special place in my heart for the beauty, culture, and people of Hawaii.
That's why the local saying is to " stay out of Waikiki as much as possible" if you are a local. Ain't nothing authentic or local about Waikiki but catered for the tourists.
Man I love this channel.....hope you keep on growing and keep on making these videos and after seeing your videos I keep on actually visitng these places !!
I'm so fortunate that I made a wise and productive decisions about my finances that changes my life forever, I'm a single Mum living in New Orleans, United States. I bought my second house in February and I'm really hoping to retire next year at 80 if things continue to go smoothly for me
Stayed in the Miramar Hotel next door to the International Marketplace on Kuhio Ave. had cocktails at Coconut Willy's in the Market Place back in 1995. Visited Waikiki Beach then rented a Harley - Davidson for five days and toured the island. Sadly I will never make it back to Waikiki. He nui ka mahalo.
I'd definitely go for vacation at one point from Boston. The only thing that would concern me is getting a job if I get mugged lol. But the place looks lovely! And I'm sure the restaurants are good too.
I'll never forget visiting this isle. Called my islander friend to come pick me up, where are you, she asked....I'm on a street, begins with a 'K', ends in an 'a', and there's an ABC store near the corner.....😉😉😉😒😒😒😒😒😒
Just got back and idk The water and weather was great !! The hotels were super clean but expensive. Burger King meal was $25.00, for 1 combo. Overpriced and the people were not giving the Aloha spirit, they made it clear we don't want tourists over here,.
Yeah, everything is expensive in Hawaii. I have been to Hawaii a bunch, the majority of the time people are warm and friendly. Here and there, I do experience that.🥲
If they don’t want tourists how the businesses staying open? I am sure the locals are not going to give them enough business here if it wasn’t for tourists 🤷🏻♀️
Omg, where is everybody. I’ve stayed on Kalakua Avenue many times and by lunchtime on any day you could barely move and crossing the roads was a nightmare. I miss Hawaii😊
Haha it was interesting. The sidewalks were crowded and it sprinkled for a couple minutes. I have lunch and came back out to film and the sidewalk emptied out.😂
