Have one of these I have been using for more than a year now as a bicycle "dashcam" and its worked good except the microphone picking up wind noise. May try gluing a foam filter over it and see if that helps.
the battery on the one I own lasts about 3+ hours, but you can plug in a power bank to the usb port and extend it longer. With the 128gb micro sd card I have I can do about 12 hours of recording on 1080p. not sure about 4k as I don't use it. As for cold weather it doesn't get cold here so I don't know. I'd worry more about humidity myself.
