Part 2 of a great day watching trains on the hill! 😎
Here, we have a Z Train climbing the hill through Cabazon, CA, MP572, next to a massive rock quarry pit! You will also see Casino Morongo in the distance.
This train has 2 cut in DPU'S and is ascending one of the steepest sections of the grade, averaging 2%! In approximately 7 miles, it will reach the summit and commence its descent into the LA Basin.
We catch it again at Hinda MP557 as it glides downhill into San Timoteo canyon, just hours from completing its journey to Los Angeles.
