Tag along for this walk through the Borgundgavlen historical settlement a beautiful day in april 2022. There have been people living in this area since the Viking times. Borgundgavlen is an island in Ålesund (Norway) situated alongside the fjord. Located on the coast between Bergen and Trondheim this was an important stop for travelers and merchants from both Norway and other countries.
Borgundgavlen and Sunnmøre museum is a beautiful place to visit in any season or weather. The museum curates a selection of rescued old farmhouses and similar from 900 A.D and onwards. Feeling like you walk through a village from the middle ages. The outdoor area is free to use and includes a nature trail with informative placards about the forest, insects, birds and animals, the village area with nice graveled paths, a large pond in wich I saw some folks paddle and a small marina with viking ships and old fishing vessels. The area is also said to be riddled with geo caches, and if you are an Ingress player it holds more than 50 portal locations. Bring your kids and your nan.
