On Wednesday, Southwest Airlines introduced the new Triple Crown One and I was honored to be able to take its first flight! This is the third iteration of the famous livery, having first been applied to a 737-300 in 1997, and then a 737-700 in 2015. This time the livery has been applied to a 737-800! I flew the previous 737-700 TC1 on the massive 16 hour, 6 stop Southwest through flight in August of 2022, so I was thrilled to be able to help introduce the new version today. TC1 is dedicated to the employees of Southwest Airlines & and their dedication to getting people where they need to be every day. All while doing it safely, efficiently, on time, and of course… With two free checked bags 😁. Triple Crown One one is back! Enjoy!
Welcome back and absolutely another spectacular beautiful shooting filming footage compilation and gorgeous settings presentation camera work and million thanks again my friend and have a wonderful blessing weekend ..
Nice shoes Bryce! Also, it wouldn't be a Southwest flight without the ol "turn and burn" takeoff 😁 Also, the views while landing in Lost Wages are great too!
Yes, I did know I would be flying on Triple Crown One. I had worked with my friends at Southwest ahead of time so I’d know when it was going to re-enter service. Thankfully Southwest is best airlines to work with on stuff like this, as they’re very receptive to my crazy ideas 😂
@@sla31 That’s cool dose this means that you could potentially ask your friend who works for Southwest Airlines to fly on a Special Livery. For example you can request your friend to see New Mexico One?
@@mbilly710 not in most situations. They re-route planes all the time and trying to nail down when and where a special livery will be is tough even for them. I mean, I work with their public relations, marketing, and social media teams mostly. They don’t control aircraft movements. In this situation we had the benefit of knowing that TC1 was being painted in Spokane. So we knew ahead of time it would re-enter service in Spokane. And even then they told me it still may change. So most of the time no, I can’t just say “hey I want to fly on this plane” and bam they move mountains just for me. If that makes sense.
I was watching the B grade movie Christmas Bloody Christmas where a robot Santa goes full Terminator and kills everyone in sight in this town. Riley Dandy is the foul-mouthed Final Girl who fights to survive the Terminator Santa's killing rampage. And, of course, she was blonde. Wasn't Linda Hamilton in the 1984 film blonde too? And now, I'm watching your video. Wow. Fantabulous views!! Looks like you went over the Sawtooth Mountains in ID and then, over the mountain ranges of Eastern NV. I was looking for the Ruby Mountains and Ruby Dome. Back in May 1996, I did a casino junket down to Elko, NV. Everyone on that plane blew all of their money in the casino, except for me, who spent the whole day hiking in the desert. I took lots of photos and got some of Ruby Dome. Those mountains looked almost like what you would see up in Alaska. Anyhow, I rejoined the group by dinner time - just in time for us to head back to the airport. One man wondered where I had been since he never saw me in the casino. But as a courtesy and as a thank you, I did buy a T-shirt in the hotel gift shop, so they did, in fact, get some of my patronage after all. And... I also spent some of my money around the town of Elko, so THEY benefited too from me being there.
Nevada is a not-so-well-known treasure, and not only because of mineral resources. Many hidden ravines, quiet glens, Indian graveyards, patches of summer snow are found among those mountain ranges.
Great fly! What do you think of Texas Central Railway proposing high-speed rail from Dallas/Fort Worth to Houston and vice versa in less than 90 minutes with Shinkansen where Amtrak doesn't have direct route?
I think it sounds great, but I also think it faces many, many, regulatory and political challenges. And I give less than a 10% chance of ever happening
Never having flown from GEG, am surprised at the lack of trees! When I think of Washington State, I picture acres of forests! Guessing GEG had their 'rush hour' prior to your departure--strangely not ONE aircraft of any company were at the gates, lots of empty gates! Of course Alaska and Delta behind you! Seeing as to your early departure, looks like a hotel just feet from the terminal complex as you pushed back. The arrival runway at LAS was one I normally don't see used in other avgeek vids. The Strip is seemingly within a rock's throw of LAS! Did your flight continue on elsewhere? Did any SWA employees recognize you as the guy who did the massive 6 stop run? Where did you connect to?
I did connect on. Back to MCI which, as chance would have it, was also operated by Triple Crown One. It wasn't marketed as a through flight through, so two different flight numbers. And I h ave had Southwest employees recognize me, but none on this trip haha.
Skylite Productions I have a question what airport where you flying from when you flew on Southwest Airlines Tennessee One? And did you know that you would be getting Tennessee One?
Well, I typically don't fly the ULCC's much. Occasionally I will if they just have the best flight option, but frankly, that isn't very often. I have one Spirit flight booked in the near future but that's it right now.
Only when I take special flights with them. I still wear my regular black ones on most trips. Although, almost all of my trips on Southwest recently have been special ones haha. I originally was going to buy my own custom pair from Converse. They have a customizable feature on their website and you can change all kinds of things and colors on them. But it was going to take like 4-6 weeks to get them, so I decided to see if I could find any like it on eBay, and wouldn't you know it... I found one in my size already made haha.
It was a full flight, so it was heavy. Also, GEG has an 11,000 foot long runway. So even though we were heavy, it was likely a derated takeoff as well. Thanks for watching my friend!
Well, you can get custom made Converse. You can customize all kinds of things on the regular Converse website. And that’s what I was originally going to do, but I lucked out and found this pair, that someone else had had custom made, in my size, on eBay. So I kind of lucked out there. I ended up getting them super quickly where it takes several weeks to get them custom made through Converse.
Not the state themed liveries or Triple Crown, no. The only specials they have that have painted winglets are the two retro Max 8's. The one in their original colors and the one in the canyon blue livery. Those do have their winglets painted to match, but all of the others have blank winglets. I was told once by someone at Southwest that this is done intentionally. They don't want the winglets to take away from the design on plane, or to clash with the livery.
