There won't be any progress unless the team gets funding. Unreal Engine games may look good but very few of them ever release from Early Access.

I don't. It looks great but it's just art. Not a single ounce of game mechanics or gamplay beyond walking and talking to npcs. I don't even see if they made any level design gameplay oriented considerations or just did am exact model of the original helm's deep. If they change the gameplay mechanics they should change the level somewhat. But they only have art for now it seems...

This feels more like a new Lord of the Rings game compared to a Conquest remake/remaster. Personally, I would love to see a remade Conquest with these stellar visuals, updated maps and mechanics, and new heroes. While I'm not saying this is bad, it feels like a strange mix of Conquest and Skyrim. Just go all in on Conquest or all in on an openworld Skyrimesque LotR.

All i want is an Open world sandbox style video game set in the Lord of the Rings universe. You can explore as the story progresses through the ages and choose whether or not to participate in historical battles and encounters. Whether that's standing with the elves and men at the siege of Angmar at the battle of Unnumbered tears. Or standing on the walls of Helms deep preparing to hold off the Hordes of Uruks until help can arrive. Or even spend countless hours in Osgiliath fighting running skirmishes with orks. But the whole time you're doing this, the story is progressing around you, culminating in the beginning of the fourth age when you can write your own story. Probably will never happen but a guy can dream 😒

Oh man i remember playing LOTR conquest back in the day. Was like Battlefront but with medieval fantasy weapons. It was soo good! And you could play as giant monsters. Should definitely get a remake

The graphics and visuals are unreal, the characters voices need major improvement. To the creators, the royal guard of the rohirrm are the hardest fighters of rohan so they need more of an aggressive commanding voice not a friendly dorks lol great game keep up the good work

Yeah the dialogue writing was not good at all. The visuals are fantastic, and I love how they closely stick to the style of the movies. Just wish they would do the same with how people talk and act.

I’m literally crying over the fact that I’ve waited almost 2 decades and someone finally build a phenomenal graphic of the Helm’s Deep to its minute detail. The long stretch of walls from one mountain to the other overseeing the impending doom of incoming Uruk Hais, the narrow caves deep inside the fort, the small claustrophobic corridors intertwining, etc. Please make this happen. 😢

Imagine the open world rpg, and then you stumble upon this huge army, and you join them walking to the battle. Like you walk for like 5 days time, rest and sleep, like you would in the real world, and then you get to the battle location and you fight to survive. It would be just so crazy.

This looks incredible and whoever put the effort into this should be extremely proud. My ONLY critique is a few problems with the layout of Helms Deep. The stairs leading up behind the Great Wall should lead up to a semi wall where those retreating up the stairway can be defended by archers. This is also the only way into the Hornburg and there should not be an access point at the “top” of the Deeping Wall. This essentially makes Helms Deep a fortress within a fortress, and was how Theoden originally intended to defend it before the Elves arrived in the Two Towers (movie obviously). He did not plan on prioritizing the defense of the Deeping Wall as he did not have the men to do so. Instead, he would have focused on defending the inner rings, even if it meant sacrificing down below. But since the steep stairway up behind the Deeping Wall is the only way to access the inner rings, other than the main gate obviously, it was his best option and might’ve worked longer than most would’ve imagined it to. The other thing is the access to the tower and the Horn should not have access from outside the Keep. Gimli made the trek up to sound the horn while everyone was inside the keep still, so it should only have access from inside if that makes sense. Last thing, and I do believe it was a good change up moving the armory into the keep, however it was actually located at the bottom of the 1st ring, down to the right after entering through the main gate. I understand putting it in the keep and all, so it’s not the end of the world, but with how accurate everything felt, to have specific things be SO different sort of irked me. The armory wasn’t a huge deal, but the first two are huge things and change the way Helms Deep is Defended.

A battlefield at start is for Disney princesses. The sound of the march does not match the gait of the column. The dynamics of the ravens' movements immediately repels the atmosphere that has already been there. The character walks on the ground and steps in isolation from the physical model. In general, it's cool.

man i remember playing lord of the rings on the ps2 with my bestfriend when we were like 10. The mission where you had to go up into the dark towers to fight the spider and goblins gave us nightmares lol. We'd play together during daytime only trying to pass that mission. Took us like 3 days haha. Good times

Holy fuck, imagine if we got an open world rpg LOTR game with Jackson's esthetics. No bullshit woke trash, forced diversity etc. It probably would not make sense to make it about The Fellowship's journey, as I can't imagine Aragorn and Legolas doing side quests while the world is rapidly falling apart, but maybe about some Rohirrim or sth. But not like in the Middle Earth WB games.

You know, this just reminded me. It would be a great idea if we had an open world game based in this universe, but instead of playing as a story main character you play a Lone Ranger or horse rider that’s tasked with investigating reports of ork activity across the land. This means you get to explore the world and even occasionally meet some of the main characters in the journey. You also play part in the main events after being called forth.

Aside from the most realistic graphics I've ever seen, the scaling is great. The castle is like a real castle, the mountain is a real mountain and the plain is a real plain. I also liked the openness and spaciousness of the view. This is how games should be.

I used the WW1 mod for Shogun 2 and the Helms Deep map, ran spearmen from Shogun 2 at machine gun emplacements and US Marines... it did not work out well for the simulated "orks"... it was a total slaughter. The UE5 version of this map is astonishing, I would love to see that battle that I did in Shogun 2 simulated in UE5.

We need a full open world middle earth game. And without any stupid changes to the lore like making shelob a shape shifting woman or making isildor a nazgul. No adding creatures or magic powers we dont witness in the books like elf wraiths possessing a human. Just a proper middle earth game, with a decent, lore following, story. Maybe where you control a ranger or someone so you can travel all around middle earth completing quests without it not making sense. It doesnt even need to be set during the war of the ring. Just a proper middle earth game based in peter jackson’s movie’s designs

26:00 I would turn the dircetion of the spinning stairs, because when you walk down clockwise - the attaker has the benefit and that is not the purpose of a defending tower :D
