Mercedes-Benz Arocs & Volvo FMX 500 Dump trucks spreading new gravel over the excisting one and the CAT 140M3 grader pushes and grading out the gravel in Oslo, August 21th 2017.
Out of all the machines I operated over a 45 year career, the one I wished I had learned to run was a road grader. I ran one for a day on a haul road, and not very well, but it was fun. I appreciate these grader operators. Masters of their craft!!
The gravel roads that are maintained locally in my area are subject to so much heavy traffic that they need grading sometimes every three days. But they are still in better shape to drive on than the government maintained black top roads. Shout out to all grader operators that maintain gravel roads. You are the best.
Thank you for subscribing to my channel, I appreciate that!! I love making this kind of videos and often spend many hours on one spot to get what I want on film..and graders are one of my favourites.
Graders are known to be one of the most complicated machines to operate, besides the Menzi Muck. The front wheels turn to the left or right, just like a normal car, but you can also tilt the tires to the left or the right, and some graders even have a pivot point in the center, making the turn radius even shorter. The machine can lean into a corner, almost like Herman Mayer or Valentino Rossi.
