There are both.

Yes, California sea lions and sea otters are both at this spot. Sea otters are an endangered species and Morro Bay is one of a handful of places on CA’s central coast where they can be seen easily 😎

@@canature9128 I lived in cayucos 1978-1981 there were lots of otters near the pier back then...not now 😒😢

Geographically California is a very beautiful state with lots to see and do in its variety of terrain: coast, mountains (with snow in winter), foothills and valleys, as well as desert. But yes the cost of living is high, and continues to go up. Rent and housing prices are outrageous, gasoline costs and auto insurance are sky high, the cost of water, electricity, and gas for your home keeps increasing, our government is a joke, taxes keep going up, businesses can’t afford to stay in business due to all the red tape combined with high operating costs for them that keep rising, homelessness here is the worst in the nation - homeless camps EVERYWHERE - even in nice areas (it’s a common occurrence to see them defecating in front of businesses and shooting up using meth and heroin). Also theft, drugs, and other crimes are off the charts and the governor just keeps throwing billions of dollars in taxpayer money at these problems but nothing changes in a positive way it only keeps getting worse. Sorry for the lengthy comment and sounding negative, but it’s all true. I’ve lived in CA for 45 years and work in law enforcement (25+ years) and used to love this state so much and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else, but now I can’t wait to retire and move to another state. No doubt CA has some very beautiful areas, Morro Bay being one of them, but I thought I’d share the “other side” of life in this state for those who don’t live here or have never visited.
