Thank YOU for sharing. It’s such a heartwarming story, I’m glad that you were able to experience your childhood neighborhood. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it
Hey I'm an Astoria guy too. Late 80s through the 90s. This blows me away to see how much has changed. It looks like a lot of the local flair has been replaced around the train station, that was near where I lived. So much local flavor has been replaced by corporate chains. Do you remember the karate school that had that big wall painted with an advertainment that everyone saw every time a train pulled into the Ditmar's station? Also, pizza palace was the spot for me, I got addicted to calzones and video games there.
@@Redpill-lv4it lol yeah i remember the big karate wall , awesome! nice to see another old school Astorian share their memories.Ive only been back once in the last 18 years cause its not easy for me to travel from NC,, so ill watch videos like this to see things and feel nostalgic.
@@crome1115 I watch the videos too. Back then it was Greeks and Italians lived there. Hey. do you happen to remember the Greek Orthodox Church down there? Some punks stole the Virgin Mary statue in the late 80s it got returned.
