Norfolk & Western 4-8-0 475 leads a series of freight specials on the Strasburg Rail Road. This 1906-built Mastodon locomotive recreates traditional N&W branchline freights from sunrise to sunset.
These specials were organized by John Craft of Historic Transport Preservation. For information on future events, check out steamspecials.com/about/

475 sure has a special place in my heart, not to mention as a child the first time I saw her in a dvd I own she was pulling a freight train too for a photo charter. Plus this video sure was great, not to mention a nice surprise just 2 days before my 20th birthday. Can’t wait to see the next one. Keep up the good work!

I'm glad 475 is back under the old N&W livery. For years when she first arrived at Strasburg in the early 90s she was made up to look like a PRR steamer.

Awesome shots! Hope you didn't freeze your butt off too bad out there. I like about 40 minutes from Ronks. It's been COLD out here lately. Saw it get down to 5 degrees the other day. Thanks for sharing!
