Last year I bought a 2008 LaCrosse CXL with only 39,000 miles from the 83-year old original owner. Like you, I didn't care for the funky old CD/radio so I replaced it with an Alpine ILX-W650 featuring Bluetooth and Android Auto, and added a backup camera. One thing to note is that although BlueDriver doesn't complain, a Tech 2 goes nuts because of the radio modification. With the 3800 Series III engine, the vehicle has plenty of passing power. I only find the shifter hard to move after it's rolled slightly after putting it into Park, but it's not a big deal. It's a superb vehicle.
That's a Beautiful car I'm Buying one soon, just junked my 2011 Ford Focus, rear subframe broke and the transmission lost all gears and it had a ton of miles on it (398,427 miles) it served me well for the $800 I paid for it. Now it's time to go back to a Buick.
I had a 2006 CXL that was a beige color with this exact interior color and configuration. Mine has 99k when I sold it. Nothing wrong with it besides needing a front sway bar. Awesome comfortable smooth cars! Looking to get another one in the future. That renown 3800 V6 will outlast the car with proper maintenance!
That’s awesome! The newest mid sized sedan you can get with the front split bench seating option and the column shifter! This even has the durable 3.8 GM engine! What a great upgrade compared to Buick Century for sure!
Check for coolant leaks around the coolant bypass elbows and the lower/upper manifold intake gaskets. I have 2 of these cars and they both had this issue. The 3800 engine unfortunately is prone to this issue. Nice car but just be aware. Private shop charged $1100 to resolve this problem as it requires some involved engine disassembly
